Well the first impression was alright but I felt that the 11.12's ran smoother with way less flickering. Three WHQL's, and I still find myself going back to the original 7900 drivers......

I installed, Ran MLAA on max aswell as AA set to max with "Override & enhance" ( forgot which it is ) and played the sniper elite 2 demo, No stutters or frame drops even on Ultra @ 1080p.

BF3 though.. I notice the graphics driver crashes when you change the GFX presets in game, I restored Catalyst Control Center to Default settings and tried to change from a mixed config to "Ultra" again and the driver keeps dumping.

Interestingly enough though, If I change each individual option to Ultra on the "Custom" setup window in BF3, I don't get any crashes.. Weird huh?

    :edit:
    I'm on a HD 6950 2GB Dirt 3 edition.

    I found this in Hardocp.

"yes this is a known issue, and is certainly considered a critical issue to be resolved ASAP. Catalyst 12.4 will be releasing on Wednesday and will include a couple of Eyefinity fixes (noted below). This specific issue you refer to is actively being investigated and we are trying to get it resolved for Catalyst 12.5; as soon as we have a driver release with the fix I will send it your way to verify that it resolves the issue for you as well. -Andrew Dodd"

There is an article about trifire and eyefinity.

No Problems for me yet. . .

Ran 3D Mark Vantage Highest Settings, , and compared the results, ,

this Driver got the Most GPU SCORE . .

    GPU Score Ratio :

    12.4 Official > 12.4 Beta > 12.4 (8.97). .

and an average of 1.2 FPS increase in every thing. .

For me those are the best drivers by far for BF3. Very smooth.

You'll seriously have to be more specific, DJ. I've played through SR3 twice on my 7970 in 1080p60 (v-sync on) using 4xEQ SSAA and never noticed any "laggy" feeling - pretty much regardless of drivers in use. I have encountered an issue on occasion where the whole game will start in extreme slow motion, but going to windowed mode fixes it quickly and easily enough. Also if you're getting outlines on things that shouldn't have them ensure that AF is set to "Use application settings" - the same fix applies to Red Faction Armageddon (which likely uses the same or similar engine).

It's not the only game to give me that slow-down trouble, though. Arkham City has done it a few times and the same fix works. Hit [Alt]+Enter, wait for Windowed mode, then play as normal. Sometimes you can go back and it'll still work, sometimes not.

Well these are the first drivers for me that have been completely broken...

Eyefinity wouldn't setup, and BF3 just wouldn't run at all.

Thats a first for me with drivers for ATI...

No, no, I've set TdrLevel at 0, ie no TDR. If I was to fiddle with TdrDelay I'd make it 10 decimal.

After about 4 hours of installing/uninstalling/crashing/repeat, I've finally worked out what the problem is:

When I uninstalled the 12.4 betas, I uninstalled MSI Afterburner as well. Why? Cos I wasn't using it to overclock.I was using CCC, just pushing everything to the max right and all was fine.
Turns out, even though Afterburner was "off", the system remembered the 1200mV setting I had it on. This is what kept the overclock stable.
So, by utter coincidence, it was the uninstall of afterburner that cocked things up, not the 12.4 drivers.

So, now I have 12.4 WHQL and a stable overclock (as my profile shows) with afterburner installed for 1200mv setting. Phew.
This drove me nuts for all of last evening and only sorted this morning. It wasn't helped by the fact that system restore wasn't working properly cos I recently cloned my old SSD to my new one.

TIP: If you're gonna clone an OS drive to a new one, make sure you turn system restore off then on again on the new drive, so it reconfigures itself to the new drive.

TL;DR: it was MSI afterburner causing the crashes, not 12.4 WHQL

Just like 12.3 when I install my screen goes to black and doesn't come back........

So back to 12.2 I go.

Yeah, 12.3 was fine but 12.4 and the new beta gave the same results with 30~fps. I'm guessing either the 3D clocks aren't kicking in or GPU not being fully utilized but I haven't had time to check what the clocks were in game.
