That's right. I believe that's the TdrDelay thing right?

I just received my first BSOD while only on two monitors :( Hopefully XFX can give me help here soon. They did say the driver releases represent their corresponding month (i.e. 12.1 = Jan, 12.2 = Feb, etc.) so they are expecting a 12.4 within this month. Maybe we'll all get lucky and that will fix it!

I got rid of mine by increasing TdrDelay to 10 , yep

How long have you been testing with TdrDelay==10?

Got 2 monitors, a 27" (Samsung SM P2770) and a 24" (Iiyama Prolite B2409HDS) both full hd res. and refuse to go test single since with that Cape Verde driver it all works good so it should also on others.

Had some heavy and fast lockups/bsod all 116 even with upped IOH (northbrigde) voltages, which previous let me end at a black screen.
Also lowered my 3,9Ghz 3.4 year stable OC to 3.5Ghz to relax stuff a bit, but shouldn't be necessary.

Also noticed that XFX putted some newer drivers on their site:
    12-3_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc.exe
    amd_catalyst_12.3_cap1.exe

So installed them to see first what those do without any registry fix.

    Side note:
Mostly the first 2 runs after installing a new driver the bsod takes long, after that less then 5 minutes.

    Lets see what happens now

This didn't work for me and I've been using it since Friday. I also did the custom profile suggested in the Tom's Hardware link I posted previously, but that didn't work either.

Think i'm gonna try the new leaked driver first 8.97-120418a posted by Marthand X fire users seem to like them and their idle clocks are fixed, so maybe more 7970 fixes in it.

And if that one doesn't work good i'm going for the xfx driver set.

Just curious, the people getting the BSOD are you using XSplit to stream? I am having the same issue but only on days I try to stream with XSplit. Days I don't use XSplit my computer can run all day without an issue. The days I use XSplit I will get a BSOD. There is something with that program and the 7xxx Drivers, they hate each other.

Nope not using it, and the bsod's are on idle and in game.

A couple weeks, but mine was happening only when I launched a game in crossfire, and not all the time.

1st time in long 5 hours of gaming (WoW) this time without any lockup, hick-ups, stuttering, black screen or bsod.
This also contains an extra 3 boots to simulate my previous experience of moor reboots more trouble.

Back to 3.4 year old OC settings no registry tweaks, just as it has always been... 3.9Ghz and even some parts under volted.
so also low voltages (below stock) that worked on the Cape Verde 12.1 driver.

Still think it's premature to post  but it feels I'm damn near :)

I don't know what XSplit is so I have to assume I'm not. How can I tell?

    3 x 7970 XFX owner here.

My experience is that 12.3 WHQL without the CAP works fine.

12.4 causes random hard locks/blue screens.

What do you mean by "without the CAP"?

He most probably means CAP as in "Catalyst Application Profiles". You know that separate download you can get to add applications to the drivers.

Ah, then I don't think I have that. I just did the standard Catalyst install and nothing extra.

As an update, XFX recommended I do a clean install of the drivers (using Driver Sweeper to clean up loose ends first). I told them I would wait until the 12.4 drivers are official and do that since my only install thus far was on a fresh box.

One interesting thing I've noticed is when I have two monitors connected (one per card) I still get the BSOD after an hour or two. When I have them both connected to a single card I'm running 100% stable (15 hours uptime thus far). This makes me think the second card might actually have bad hardware. Anyone else concur?

I've installed 8.97-120418a and let the system go idle on dual monitor for a whole night. It seems to be solid though. I'm really happy to finally have a both latest and stable driver.

It's the same here, this one seems to be stable, tested most of the things i usually do and let the system go idle after for a while and every time it's still running.
