Nice chart. Not quite what I was expecting to see though. I really expected to see 680SLI with higher framerates in every instance.

I expect 680 SLI performance will get much better with future drivers. As it stands now, I agree - not worth the scratch.

Also would like to see that cpu at 4.8-5 GHz...

Hopefully, we'll see an improvement in future drivers, as it stands now there's only like 3 drivers that support the 680 GTX, and only one is official. One thing I would like to know though is if the guy who did those benches used the same driver on both sets of cards. He says he uses 301.10 (which aren't the greatest drivers to begin with), but did he mod the inf to support the 580's? I would like to know.

You aren't including power usage either.

It may 'only' be 25% faster, but two 680's use decently less power at load then two 580's.

25% faster and less power usage? I'd say it's worth it.

1000 bucks to save a little on the electric bill and 20-25% more performance? If you buy me 2 I will happily try them out for myself

The buy in cost vastly outweighs the savings on the power bill....

680 SLI for bf3 maxxed in game settings mp never under 80fps. single 1080p-
But coming from 580's to 680's is ok if you have the cash, but you are not missing anything if you dont.

Thats not the point I was trying to make. You made the blanket statement of 680's not being worth it, and the 580's seemingly being a 'better choice'. Obviously, if you allready own two 580's there ain't much point.

But if you are this guy and bought two 680's anyways or don't own 580's then the two 680's are the best choice.

Your missing the title of the thread man. 680 sli is very good, not worth it for me though. And I never said buy 580s instead of 680s. For me to spend 1000 to save a little on my electric bill is just silly. If your not on high end 5 series sli it is a great upgrade

Gtx 580 sli was overkill for 1920x1080 and it was easy to get cpu bottlenecked, so the situation of two gtx680 is even worse.

The user should have overclocked the cpu more.

Also, Alank Wake results are broken because 301.10 drivers won´t support SLI in this game.

    In BF3 I am getting a minimum of 80fps and a max of 150fps.
