On my rig, RAGE also runs like a bitch, and I can see how textures are loaded from HDD :bang:
    Vsync also doesn't work.
BTW, from patch notes: you'll need a fast CPU with that function :nerd:

The texture detail is something like placebo effect (same textures, more spots on textures and more bright) no new textures.Example on Crysis 2 its real texture update.
And about the CPU before my gtx 460 1GB Palit plate broke the game uses 30-40% GPU usage now i have HD6870 and i have 100% usage for the same 60 fps. This game i primary coded for NVIDIA GPUs.

Its not coded for nvidia gpus its just crappy ati coding of opengl drivers. You can compare how even CS1.6 or DOOM 3 runs on similar perfomance nvidia and ati gpus and see how they show way less fps on ati

Rage runs maxed out and smooth fps on my pc? Also with my 4890 videocard.
Did you put the atioglxx.dll in your game directory?

What's the point? I already have a good enough card.

And perosmct, we're discussing drivers, not how the 6xx series is.

Strange Brink works perfect and the engine is ID Tech 4 (OpenGL).

I'm running 8.95.5 February 24th and the game runs at 60 FPS with 8 x Anti-aliasing. There were problems with Rage with earlier drivers such as flickering flags and I was getting a little micro-stutter whilst riding the buggies. But the game is now running smooth as butter and cross-fire is working at 1920 x 1080.

I believe if you are experiencing problems you may have turned Texture Detail on. This option was not available when the game was 1st released but due to customer feedback I.D software have implemented it to sharpen the graphics. Not only do you need a fast C.P.U for this option but you also need a SSD. Only with a solid state drive and a fast C.P.U will you get the transfer speeds to unpack the compressed textures in the game fast enough to not impact performance. I ran a benchmark and got 42 which is average to good but with Texture Detail enabled the game was unplayable as I have an ordinary SATA drive.

The only difference with the game for Nvidia users is that they can use their cards to GPU Transcode (Cuda) to do the calculations for unpacking the compressed textures. So Nvidia users with a powerful set up will be able to play the game with sharper graphics but at the end of the day they are the same graphics. So turn Texture Detail off and set Vsync to Yes and enjoy a great game.

Looking forward for Skyrim with AA without image corruption.

the level of quality from software companies is dwindling slowly but surely...remember the days of DOS? how many patches did they need then? how often did a game NOT work?

the one thing ive always been amazed at is the lack of lawsuits...but its always a guarantee now that your software will be broken somewhere along the way...if not the drivers...Ive never played Rage...had it for a week..returned it. Thanks iD for the memories..but Rage left a lot of very bad taste in my mouth...and obviously Im not the only one...

From what I've been hearing 12.4 should be pretty solid. I'm still using the RC11 drivers for my 7970 because it recognizes my overclock. Meanwhile 12.2 just broke everything for me lol
