excellent card with just 1 driver under its belt, bet performance will increase with future driver updates just like the 7970

Yeah the 680's are selling out quick, I was seriously lucky to be able to grab two of them at Newegg yesterday as they sold out pretty quick after I placed my order. Hopefully in a few weeks Nvidia will be able to keep up with the demand.

Looks like im gonna be using onboard for a little while till I find one of these bad boys! GREEN TEAM HERE I COME! I've had enough of ATI!

I dont understand one thing, the main retailer here in Toronto is Canada Computers... They have the best prices IMO for most products, EXCEPT NEW COMPONENTS!

Like with Newegg.ca, the 680's are going for 499.99... for some reason, on the
CC store/site they are going for about $50-60 to even $70 more! Same with the 7000 series cards! What a ripoff...

Was quite a conservative overclock of 1186 on the 680 though, and they don't really explain why, just seems strange when they also say they say the saw the Auto OC peaking at 1300mhz.

Lightly overclocked 7970 vs a 1106+ gpu boost (dont know how far it gets but its like 1200mhz)

A Good overclocked 7970 vs a Massively overclocled 680 (this is the most overclock i got to see on the internet so...)

A poorly overclocked 7970 (1125/1575) vs a much more cloked gtx 680 (up to 1250mhz)

Can you do math now or will i have to link some math books ?

After the initial shock hardcore supporters of the Red Team have found on thing that, depends on how you look at it, might alleviate the pain: OVERCLOCKING.

But I have some bad news for you. Only in those couple of games where the 7970 already has a few frames more that the GTX680 and OCed 7970 keeps the difference.

Speaking of overcloking, look here, stock cooler:

those oc are almost exactly the same. you need to take the starting clocks into consideration. 1006 925. in your good oc 7970 vs massive 680 oc you subtract these numbers you will be surprised 329mhz vs 325mhz for the 7970

Who is choosing what is considered a light or a heavy overclock for each card?

From what i've saw the both clock quite similarly, so if a stock 680 is beating a stock 7970, then an overclocked one will also beat it, and same applies to a game were a stock 7970 is beating a 680.

It's hardly a surprise as we all know certain games work better on certain hardware.

What i need to consider is the max average overclock... From what i see 680 sits on like 1250/1260 (average of all) while average 7970 sits around those numbers too...
And the 7970 scales better on oc...

Humm let me explain this to you in a way you can understand (might be difficult)...
1125mhz vs 1250mhz and look at the diference in scores :) Want me to write them down to you ?

Again, the most overclocked and reviewed gtx680 vs an average overclocked 7970... and look at the numbers...
