AMD recently signed a contract with texas instruments to provide GPUs to power scientific calculators. AMD gpus are appropriate for this due to low power and low performance and they can run off of low output solar cells.

It sometimes dips to 50 fps with the HD textures but mostly runs at 60 fps except in those 'problem' areas (which admittedly run far better now the game has been properly optimized). I'm only using the Space Probe mod and the official HD pack, no other mods.

Theres always a couple sites that jump the gun by an hour or two, so I'm pretty sure I'll see reviews beforehand.

out of the two i think i prefer city but that's only because silva is my favourite from the two sides..(when he's on form...which i dont think he is atm).

bleh that gpu boost looks stupid, fps fluctuations all over the place. Thanks but no thanks -_-

the only thing that's good is physx3 and even that is questionable when it comes to raw performance/optimization.

loll why? one time you have steady 70fps next time it jumps to 80 and then back wdf?

I think the GPU boost will be more useful for capped games or ones that use v-sync personally. For example on my 24" display it would ensure that the framerate is always near to or 60 fps which is all I want.

it's an nvidia ad why not wait until calling something stupid...

how do you know for sure it's going to be good or not.

or just because it's nvidia you are saying it's stupid? doesnt seem very intelligent on your part no?

Or it could be used to keep it at 60fps when load gets higher, so without GPU Boost it would drop to 50fps.

Other than having a before and after video, you can't really show that in a video though.

Oh look, it stays the same lol.

and quake III is capped to certain framerate, no wonder. Also it won't stress gpu nowhere near like lets say BF3.

Is that nv fan talk? :p

And please don't call me stupid, ok. I didnt call you names either, not until now. ;)

Sorry but the way they represented it in that video was enough for me to say that. Its one thing to keep things fluid, but to make it jump like that without vsync is not a good thing.

It like you keep pressing nitro on a car and watch speed dial jump up and down and the car keeps bouncing/twitching -_-

hope im wrong though, but i got that impression and like i said im not impressed, quite contrary.

Anyway we shall see the bigger picture tomorrow.. ;p
