I have this also, with every 12.xx driver released and going back to 11.10 preview2. You can solve this by uninstalling the new cat drivers from add/remove software, reboot in safemode and use driversweeper latest version, it will cleanout all ati files for your videocard and several registry settings, again reboot in normal mode and then ccleaner to be safe, now you can reinstall 11.10 preview drivers.

As for uninstalling with that dark screen, that's impossible for me, and win7 wont let me uninstall through add/remove in safemode. Had this yesterday and only option was to use driversweeper in safemode, delete the graphics device from hardware manager, and after reboot start all over again.

I'm convinced it's a leftover file from newer drivers that conflict with 11.10 preview drivers since it doesn't occur with whql drivers.

If ccc doesn't load up, as was the case for me, uninstall again the 11.10 from software menu and afterreboot cleanout again and reinstall. Fixed ccc for me.

ps. stupid me for always being too hasty in removing and reinstalling different drivers, and then forgetting some important part in the process...

I did the same thing as above...and tried both 11.10P2 and P3 but the dark screen problem still here.

I am using driversweeper 3.2.0 as the program itself said there is no update. And now I just did the clean up in safe mode. and I run this in normal mode it said nothing found so I assume that there may have something left inside my system but I dont know how to find them...

Thats why I start putting the driver on desktop so I can click it and uninstall it.

I found that there still have lots of ati/amd files inside the system after I uninstalled and ran the clean up with driver sweeper/ccleaner.

    e.g. C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\Temp
but the problem is they said I dont have permission to delete them...

    and also something like
    C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\c7119606.inf_amd64_neutral_ec3f6b7918bf75fd\B119700

    updated 15:12
after 5 hours of trying I am now giving up...just make the ccc working with this 12.2 whql.

I may do a new partition just for 11.10p3 to play bf3.:bang:

do these work with 7950 and Portal 2 ? The 12.2 / 12.3 previews (14th and 28th Feb) will crash Portal 2. Other games work fine though.

I hope these work out the kinks on my 2x7970 ?

I always rebuild from scratch when replacing a major component in my system.

just ready to drop 12.2 onto the METAL baby.

Fingers crossed and image (minus drivers) secure on a seperate drive.

    Here weeeeee gooooooooo.

One major issue is that the core clock locks at 400mhz when playing videos/streams. So even if you run a game that needs the full core speed, its not happening.

To add to this, I turned Catalyst AI down to the quality setting and unchecked the surface optimization option. Now everything is much sharper and clearer in all games and performance also has increased. I still can only use FXAA in Skyrim though.

Is that a separate thing like an injector? If so, no thanks. I've tried those before and always wound up getting rid of them.

Had this problem. Read some blurb about it being due to games forcing antialiasing

So I Set Antialiasing to none (in options in the launch menu). It went away. Helped me a TON. Hope it does the same for you.

yeah, you should turn off any in-game AA if using injectors..

I fear they no longer support 6990 card since 12.1 drivers because no matter what I do the overddrive section of the ccc doesnt work at all with any drivers above 11.12.... sad

    Hello to all
    With AMD Driver 12.2/3 WHQL.
The CCC software (CLI.exe) starts and after 1 minute, it closes.

I'd have to agree with you about Skyrim being fubar I thought I'd toasted my video cards memory because that's what it looked like so I rolled back to 12.1 and works fine no corruption

So WTF AMD do you dumb arses just sit round thinking up new ways to piss us off every month or what :3eyes:
