AMD Catalyst 12.2 (repackaged)

For those of you who wanna keep the performance benefits of the latest 8.950.0 WHQL drivers but ditch the crashing CCC, I have repackaged the drivers from the the AMD website with Catalyst Control Center Version 2012.0120.2218.39907 (the latest CCC that doesnt have the crash on start problem)

The rapidshare is painfully slow! It starts and stops and I just cant get the windows 7 drivers from there.

 

If you want a good, free host use " http://www.jumbofiles.com ". With a free account I download at around 1 - 1.5mb/s.

Had to stop the x64 download, 25kb a sec LMFAO, rapidshare completely and utterly sucks there free download speeds are beyond crap.

Crashing CCC? Hasn't happened here.

 

if it crashes, your OS is broken, not CCC. try an update installation of your OS, that will keep all your settings and files and fixes all sorts of errors. uninstall the AMD drivers and maybe some other 3rd party drivers before you do this. I have my OS running since Win 7 came out with this methode and never had to do a fresh re-install, despite MB & CPU upgrades.

 

I have had crashing in CCC with the new drivers, mind you my system is heavily modified, and probably 'broken', but I will give these drivers a try and post back.

Finally it's the same sh1t. The process slstaskbar64.exe is responsible of this.
Roll back again to 12.1. :bang:

Been having problems getting CAT's above 12.1 to work..:bang:

Giving the mobility version posted here a shot to see if it will work as all
versions .2 to .4 and .6 are getting worse for some reason.

.2 won't do native 1900x1080, just 1440xsomething.

.3 same as .2, or can't find suitable hardware.

.4 can't find hardware.

.6 same as .4, but only 800x600 rez at 16bit.

bad to worse to 'are you kidding me'.

 

CCC should not be crashing, you have other problems c1:

 

12.2 has many more problems than just slow opening/crashing CCC, eg. AVT in startup folder etc. AVIVO didn't install/work on 12.1, gpu transcoding fubared in every version since 11.9+.

Just install and update CCC from 8.951.1 driver over top of 12.2 and untick everything else. Closest version to 8.950 that CCC works proper..

 

Not crashing, bro, not detecting my hardware...at all.

I have just run up and down almost the entire driver chain from 11.12 to
12.6...run into a new problem, almost same as the old problem:

Everything NOT 12.1 fails...now it seems to be a digital signature problem after
running atiman's uninstaller (very nice, BTW).

They all install and run...just no native rez and now complaints about the drivers not being signed. :3eyes:

Same with the mobilities posted here.

sounds like the installer isnt recognising the vendor id.

in device manager, copy the hardware id and paste it here.

like PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_6798&SUBSYS_E208174B&REV_00

have you modified your bios in any way?
