Everytime this thing Popup in startup!!!

Well Fresh Windows 7 x64 Installation, and i have 12.3 WHQL driver installed!!!

 

Delete C:\ProgramData\AMD\KDB and restart, wait until AML is done, restart again, now the popup should only be there for a very short time.

@tb77 Hi U mean the Full AMD Folder or Just the file Named "aml_Juniper.kdb".....

 

By the way, does anyone know what's "AML Device Install" ? What's its purpose?

I've it in my Startup list along with Catalyst Control Center, of course. I'm able to untick CCC through MSCONFIG and thus, I don't get MOM.exe + CCC.exe running. If I try to untick AML Device Install, nothing happens. It's still running normally...

 

I think something is broken with this driver!!!!!!!

 

All I get is an icon in the taskbar for AML device install which goes away after about 10 seconds. As I understand it, it is for the new video encoding and decoding feature in the driver. I have no idea if it really needs to run at startup or not. It may be like the startup for CCC. If you disable that, than the control panel takes 5 times as long to show when you select it from a right click on the desktop. It's like a fast start option.

something about AMD Media Library = AML (thought it was Anti Money Laundering lol) .. Installed the new 12.2 on my E-350 system (filename is 12-2 but CCC state 12.3?) .. WEI for Aero increase 0.1 point from 4.5 to 4.6 ... huh?

yes, the AML startup tool creates the "opencl library of kernels, called a kernel database or KDB file" - this should only take a bit time once and then it will only "updated" once the opencl part of the driver changes.

I deleted the AMD Folder and restarted the system, this thing again popups in Startup

 

Once it's fully run it's course then it just pops up for a split second on sequential startups.

It's really a minor annoyance once you let it run fully at least once.

 

Huum so in your system it pop up at each restart ? it should only do it one time when you reboot after driver install.. ( at least it is what have happened on my system )

i was gonna start a topic about as well lol. installed 12.3 whql and got this AML thing popping up every time Windows starts up as well. but it only appears for about a second so it doesn't really brother me but annoying as hell.

 

It should ony popup "long" for the first restart, then wait 15min and restart. Now it should only popup for a split second.

 

guys use ccleaner or type msconfig to disable the AML.. it will solve this issue.. mine never appeared..

i only got 1 issue that is yellow sign appeared after finish installed & w/o any error.. just amd can't detect my C++ if no mistake..

 

disabling AML will break opencl, so be carefull!

 

Yeah, I currently see it only for a split second every time, not full CMD window. Probably later they will make it behave better without starting up with each boot, who knows.

But as I said, I tried to disable it in MSCONFIG, but futile... It doesn't let me. Reactivates itself.
