43-45fps on battlefield 3 feels a bit slower than it should be (it feels like 30-35). I don't know if it is the sapphire 7970 or if it is the games themselves. But for old republic, it is literally weird. Why would 40 feel like 20, is beyond me. 2600k @ 4.4ghz asus p8p67 pro rev 3.0 b3 8 gigs muskin ram sapphire 7970 @ 1050/1575
Yes. The old republic one is weird. it is always capped at 60 (my refresh rate), but when it does go down to 40, it only happens in caves (with a specific type of smoke in it, and lots of it). That is when 40 LITERALLY feels like 20.
swtor is bugged . has nothing to do with the gfx card bioware failed on the optimisation part ( as much as i love mass effect) also .... person who suggested +20 , perfectly legit, when your card overheats (if it does ofc ), it will start to throttle lowering gpu frequency thus fps decrease and stutter, increasing that setting also increases the treshold
Try changing the 'render ahead' settings or 'flip queue' settings on Ati. BF3 can be done with a command line in a user.cfg file. Iirc for higher fps a lower render ahead feels smoother, whereas lower fps feels smoother with a higher render ahead limit. I use 2 for BF3, but i agree with you anything less than 50 on that games feels un-smooth for me. Oc that 7970 to 1200mhz range if you can and set msaa to x2 when on the B2k maps. (x4 msaa is okay at this oc for the standard maps) @ 1080p btw
1200 seems a tad bit high on the stock cooler. I guess allot of people are doing it and seem successful at it. I only worry about long term effects of this 1200mhz oc and slight voltage increase (on the 7970 of course). The only game that would require 1200mhz, is bf3, on b2k maps/64 players. I don't even use aa at all, & I get the fps that I described on the first post. I am at 1050/1575, on the 7970 of course.
