Never played any Total War titles yet but always wanted to try. If I get this one and I liked it I would defiantly get other ones too later.
You have it and i have nothing. Actually i don't have the time to play due to work but sometimes i can play due to free time. Actually, i don't suspect to win anyway.
My mate's been wanting me to buy this for a while and I've always been reluctant seeing as I'm into FPS games, but he insists I'll like it if I play it. Too bad though, I lost my job on Monday, so won't be buying much for a while! :sadfacepuppyeyes: Oh yes, yes that's right, I'm playing the sympathy card! ^^
Empire's a good game, but you really do need all the extra units dlc or it just seems so meh compared to Napoleon. (Never got Napoleon to run nicely on ATI cards) Shogun on DX11 is the best - you can really max it out. I've never played a game which makes better use of it Guess it really depends on what theatre appeals to you the most? I really want Rome 2 because the the theatre of the ancient and efficient Roman war machine is just great!
tbh i think the warscape engine is fairly pants...plus dx11 in shogun2? isnt it just a cop-out? i.e there is some tesellations but that's all it is....game is mostly dx9 ish with some rocks in dx11... i agree with rome2 but i dont think we will get it. i think CA has taken a nose-drive recently and I think for them to release a rome2 that will have as many units/factions is unlikely.. i'll be very very suprised if it is and will eat my shorts! i def wont be pre-ordering another total war... for empire you def need a mod like darthmod + aum units and other submods like blood etc. i think the mods add on another 100 or so units or more...including ships of the line etc etc...
Well, I've never played warscape so I'll check that out now! Never really modded a total war game either, the vanilla just seemed great anyway. But I do know that mods can really improve a game and I do use them! Never got round to it with total war for some reason, maybe I should! Not sure why you think CA have gone down hill. I'm annoyed that Empire was released with almost no units and 1.0 -1-4 was a ctd nightmare! and also that Napoleon never really worked on an ATI card, at least for me! But I really think that Shogun 2 is very good. Guess it depends on how much you play ship battles? I think that CA know how important Rome 2 will be and I hope that the creative director can convince the studio execs to do it right! But in such times of poor development I do feel I should say that I think CA have a better finish to their products, mainly as they are not console ports. But they too are guilty of selling out to rip off loyal fans with dlc that should be main content anyway! I remember Spartan total Warrior as well, lols As for the dx11 thing, all I can say it that I went from maximum settings @ 25-30 fps to maximum settings at 35-40 fps with my current <- hardware.
Hey, i would love to try this game out. I'm currently playing Medieval total war II i picked it up for like £5 and its great.. and i've played Rome TW before METWII, Taking over all the castles & towns is epic. I love the huge battles, especially the archers & cavalry. I checked the review for Empire and it looks good, the game engine looks much better that METWII. it be cool to play with the different units & it has huge sea battles!!! That is all... Thanks
