I currently run the game as is, straight out the box as such, except I use skse loader for tesv acceleration layer. If I download this beta update would I still have to launch the skse loader or could I then just run the game via steam as intended?
    Thanks in advance.

Just update SKSE to support 1.4, you don't need (Nor can you use it since plugins have to be updated as well.) TESVAL anymore though. :)

    EDIT:

There is no need for tesval in 1.4 and as such, in your case, no need for skse loader.

ENB isn't working anymore with the new patch, the game closes immediately when i start it.

edit: nvm false alarm, i deleted smaa.dll and the game started.

Not sure if anyone will experience the same but for ATI users I went from 12.1a to the RC11 and got 1-2fps boost but that shouldn't really matter right? :p lol anyway its a slight boost and ymmv I guess.

So what's the story with the beta patch? I've never used a betta patch before. I follow the steps to install it. But what happens once they release the actual 1.4 patch? Does it automatically install? Or is the beta patch basically the same as the 1.4 patch?

If they take it out of beta most likely there should be another patch because they havent include the workshop that was suppose to come with this patch and knowing steam they usually like to keep you up to date on your games and will want you to download the latest (unless disabled).

Just to clarify with the pic I posted there was no visual difference, something just happened when I took the screenshot but performance is clearly shown.

    1920x1080, Ultra Preset 8x/16x, HD6970 940/1400, RC11 Drivers (first pic was 12.1a).

Updated to 1.4 beta today, performance definitely improved a lot. Having a problem now though when antialiasing is enabled, the environment textures are sorta flashing in and out as I move my camera. Not sure how to fix it without disabling antialiasing.

    Edit: randomly fixed itself...dunno how.

After the poor figure they did worldwide (performance wise) it was obvious that the new patch would've fixed the serious fps drops... They just did their job (and they had all the time to recompile some useless code parts).

Which is more than you can say about a great deal of companies, so kudos to Bethesda.

Nexus Mod Manager -- It will make your life much easier, don't hesitate.
No Tint and Desaturation (Darker Nights version) -- Most people suggest the Realistic Lighting mod. Personally I find this the best.
A Quality World Map - With Roads
    Categorized Favorites Menu
    SkyUI
    Valdacils Item Sorting
    Xenius Character Enhancement

I also have a few other small mods installed, but those are the larger/better ones. A modded game can make a huge difference:

Looks like a Nice FPS boost with 1.4. going by what I'm seeing on the interwebz. I'm taking a break from the game right now (waiting for the CK) but I'm getting very itchy fingers. lol

Just tried the Beta 1.4 patch in steam

    wtf

it made a huge difference in framerate.

markarth, palace entrance overlooking the city (one of the most intense parts of the game)
    unpatched, no SKyboost/TESVAL ~17-20FPS
    unpatched with SKyboost/TESVAL ~22-25FPS
    patched to 1.4 beta ~ 34-40FPS o_0
