Hi all.First sorry for my bad english. So the problem is my laptop have 4GB(2x2gb).I buy 1x4GB and i want to run with 6GB.When i install (1x2gb/1x4gb) my laptop run in bios write 6144mb.But wen start the windows bsod...some time freeze on windows welcome screen and bsod.I trying evrerything to run with 6GB not sucess(one time and show me 802mb hardware reserved after next restart bsod).Sometime is run under Safe Mode and there is write some ram use with Hardware Reserved.Under linux i dont have problems :X installed 6GB and no any problems. One friend tells me my video card shared memory make conflict and cant calculate the ram.Can i DISABLE my video card shared memory. The video card is not integrated.I will give every information you will need...:"( just wanna run this computer with 6GB ram....and no bsod....
I test the ram. ( NEW RAM Corsair 1x4GB)
Test everything no problems with hardware.
    Reinstall the windows only (x64).
    Stop the service SuperFetch.
    Install some hotfixes from windows.
I dont know what i make more :"(.

Since you have a discrete video card you shouldn't have any shared video memory (shared video memory is for integrated graphics typically). Your laptop supports 8 GB of RAM as well, so recognizing 6 GB shouldn't be an issue. Sounds like your new memory module may be bad or that it is incompatible with your existing memory module. Try running a memory diagnostic like memtest.

Nope. My GTX 260M has 1 GB + 1.7 GB shared if needed.

Yes i test no problems with memtest.1st time i change the ram because i think was broken the shop is change the ram with NEW and tell me the problem is not in the ram.The ram is crosair and with same timing with other 2 rams...
My video card is not integrated but have some hypermemory or something - http://imageshack.us/f/593/adaptermemory.png/

I think if i can stop this memory will be fine. But in bios dont have anything for this to stop video memory or something :( very bad bios :(

I write in one forum and wait someone to mod the bios :( i dont have any idea

Ugh HyperMemory and TurboCache. On a GTX 260 really? As I said earlier the laptop is listed as supporting up to 8 GB of RAM so it may just be a compatibility error. I have had brands of RAM that refused to work on certain motherboards with certain other brands, this is why mixing brands is usually discouraged.

As for disabling HyperMemory, it appears it may be possible to do with ATI Tray Tools or RivaTuner, I have never used a card with shared memory so I can't test this.

Like David said, I'm also quite sure you have a memory compatibility problem.
Try just installing the new 4GB.
If that doesn't make Windows go BSOD, then most likely you just can't pair different-sized RAM sticks with AMD chipsets.

IIRC Intel has supported flexible dual-channel pairings on different-sized RAMs for quite a long time; dunno about AMD though.
By 'flexible' it means with a 2GB & 4GB sticks (like in your case), 2GB from the 4GB stick would be in dual-channel mode, while the rest would be accessed in single-channel mode.
