I'll ignore that comment On the HD7970 the Dell monitors will be connected like so: Monitor 1 - DVI - DVI Monitor 2 - MiniDP to DP (adaptor included) Monitor 3 - MiniDP to DP (you may need an adaptor here) You shouldn't have any issues barring the need for an additional Mini DP to DP adaptor as there is only one in the box (per my bundle). Your current HD5870's will be connected like: Monitor 1 - DVI - DVI Monitor 2 - DVI - DVI Monitor 3 - DP to DP Barring and additional adaptor you are set to go. Driver quirks aside you shouldn't have any issues. In terms of grunt your HD5870's should still hold their own (lets assume you get at least 80% scaling). The 1GB VRAM they have is the main problem for Eyefinity.
thanks man, straight to the point answer . I'm looking now to cheapest dell delivery set-up and compare with your results.
Ive ordered!!! Couldn't resist any longer, Novatech (who ive got an account with), got some VTX ones in for £469, so i could have had one of those in a couple of clicks, but ive never had VTX before, always got Sapphire, so i decided to create an account with Ebuyer to get a Sapphire from them, as they have them for £465, so i saved myself £4 as well. Roll on Monday Just hope my 6970 comes out easy enough, as with it being right up against my drive cage, i had a bit of a faff getting it in, had to tilt it and allsorts (which ill have to do with the 7970 being the same size)
Well nothing much uses it, its only about 1 game, maybe 2 at the most isn't it ? Btw, My cards being picked
Cards been Dispatched, and shouldn't take long to deliver, as local delivery depot is only 2 minutes up the road
OK Xaser04, now I got eyefinity UP AND RUNNING and WOW... I have made some benchies: HAWX 2: 5760x1080, dx11, all maxed out: Max fps:100, Medium fps 61 Grid: 5760x1080, dx9, on high: as I see in MSI: Min fps:44, Max fps 87 BF 3 tomorrow as now I have to make bezzel compansation and to search for a better wallpaper. My 5870 in crossfire still keep it strong. Skyrim and Driver SF cannot see 5760x1080 as a resolution. I'll try to find a solution to this.
