    I get really good FPS... prob 50fps min up to 85 (my cap) with 4xAA/ Ultra shadows etc, but at 8xAA my frame rate dives to about 45fps avg almost unplayable.

    @Pill Monster
    where, in huge cities as well? Do you use girds=7 too?

    Idk my max fps, i play with vsync ;P.

    In caves its 60fps cap all the time, outside mostly 50-60fps, except in some huge cities..

    Im gonna try lower shadows a bit, this what i use atm

    iBlurDeferredShadowMask=2
    fInteriorShadowDistance=4000.0000
    fShadowDistance=5000.0000
    iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=2048
    iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
    iShadowMapResolution=4096
    fShadowBiasScale=0.5000
    iShadowMaskQuarter=4
    iShadowMode=4
    bTreesReceiveShadows=1
    bDrawLandShadows=1
    bDrawShadows=1
    iShadowFilter=4

    I think i will have to settle with 2048 here
    iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
    iShadowMapResolution=4096

    I had this before modding my game at all. Not complaining... they must really, really like me in Riverwood!

    For fps, now i get 37 minimum in whiterun specific frame drop places, but overall I play 55-60. I have a limiter in my ini file for 60fps cap (I dont need more than that). Also as I said I use 4k textures for the entire skyrim, from little stones, to planets!! :nerd: Everybody that looks at it, thinks that its x16, but I always play x8 here is a video in youtube... You can see different mountains as well.. I dont have FXAA injection there http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpqosO0E3sg

    And a question, when I approach at nights for example a torch or a fireplace, it reflects a strange thing in my character like flashing shadows and they look ugly!! how can I remove this effect? Here is an example http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ubc-pa5_iEg at 1:35 you can see my characters face flashing this ugly shadows! Its ugly because it looks like polygons... This happens, its time I approach a source of light.. You can also see this effect in my characters cloths, when the video starts..

    I measured my lowest fps here when you started to turnaround :)

    vanilla 33-37 (daylight)
    skyboost r3 ~50-55fps (daylight)

    as for those shadows, you can try this in skyrimprefs.ini

    tweak these lines to your liking :nerd:

    [Display]
    iBlurDeferredShadowMask=3
    fInteriorShadowDistance=4000.0000
    fShadowDistance=5000.0000 (or 6000.0000; cpu impact)
    iShadowMapResolutionSecondary=4096 (default 2048; small performance impact)
    iShadowMapResolutionPrimary=4096
    iShadowMapResolution=4096 (performance impact)
    fShadowBiasScale=0.5000 (try lower or higher, 0.3 or 0.7)
    fShadowLODStartFade=500.0000
    iShadowMaskQuarter=4
    iShadowMode=4
    bTreesReceiveShadows=1
    bDrawLandShadows=1
    bDrawShadows=1
    iShadowFilter=4

    At 140 hours, I have played Skyrim for twice as long as any other game - and I'm nowhere near done.

    But I'm not addicted, you see. I can quit any time I want.

    Really, I can... :gape:

    Alexander Blade has released an R4 test version of SkyBoost, there are now 2 seperate files included -- one of AMD and one for Intel.

    My i7 2600 results (looking from worst possible FPS angles/locations):

    Whiterun: R3: 54.2 FPS -- R4: 58.2 FPS
    Markarth: R3: 32.5 FPS -- R4: 34.9 FPS

    R4 is still Beta

    So before anyone tries R4 release of Skyboost, please note to backup your save games.

    Its been observed all the time, that anything game changing will also get updated in the save state of your save game files. So if there is any glitch in the test version, that'll also get saved in the save files.
    (not only with skyboost, its with every non-texture mods for Skyrim)

    It's a good idea to backup your saves anyway but I didn't think SkyBoost had any direct effect on save game data like user mods do (where you get a warning that they're missing if you delete or uninstall them)?

    I backup my saves every 2 days of not daily.

    And the changes to save games are related to the ESP files. If you uninstall a Mod that uses an ESP file and you load your old save, it says they there is content that might not work anymore because you removed the Mod.

    Yes, it works like that. SkyBoost doesnt has any direct effect on save game data (nor any other data of the game).

    But, its a very low level stuff. On the very start you have a bunch of functions that are being optimized. But on the very end you have a game that uses those functions thousands of times each frame.

    So, say that a lil screw up turned out in between and some script on the game stopped working. Whatever effect that broken script may have, say, not starting a quest, it may end up saved on your savegame (by a mechanism of how the game works, not cuz SkyBoost is saving anything) and thus, you may not able to fix it.

    Thankfully Alexander as lots of experience in this stuff. But, its on testing stage for a reason.

    Oh thats why i messed it up.. I added a skyboost version yesterday and I started a new game.. I noticed LOTS and DOZEN of freezes!! But I had an increase in my fps as well! Always 55-60 all the time!

    since then I totally removed skyrim, updating drivers now and soon I will make a clean install again! thanks for this info! I didn’t knew that even if we delete this injection, it saves in our characters save files!

    As for the info about the shadow problem, I thank you, I will add this soon, after the clean install..
