Can't wait to test this... "UPDATE: The new Xbox 360 dashboard is now live. You can download it right now from Xbox Live or you can download the new Xbox 360 software from Softpedia, either to put an USB stick and then plug that into the console, or burn on a CD or DVD and then play it on the device." http://news.softpedia.com/news/Down...-Dashboard-Update-For-Free-Today-238618.shtml Copy to a USB flash drive http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FI...soft-Xbox-360-Firmware-20146990-for-USB.shtml or Burn to a CD or DVD http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FI...t-Xbox-360-Firmware-20146990-for-CD-DVD.shtml
The dashboard has been delayed and Since when did Microsoft release dashboard updates on websites ? No Thanx I'll wait for an "official" release.
I don't know. I've just found this. But it seems that are right http://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-360/system-updates/system-updates and Softpedia has the download links that Microsoft provides.
https://twitter.com/#!/majornelson/status/144061521570435072 Straight from Major Nelson. It's been delayed.
True "We are still working to get the release out. Stay tuned, we’ll have an update this afternoon (PT) on when it will begin rolling out." https://twitter.com/#!/majornelson
Since always, it has to cater to people without internet. Also, the one on the website is still the old one.
I've had it for awhile(I was in the beta preview program) and it was okay, but the Beacons didn't work well at all. Let me explain, the Beacons worked great! They told you when people played certain games, or what certain people are playing, and you post it to facebook. But turning it off, does nothing! It still does everything that having the Beacon on does. Me and my buddy play MW3 split screen a lot, and I liked what Microsoft did before where if you two had the same friends that came online, it would show you at the same time. Now, it shows one at a time, so saying the friend is online twice. Not bad, but kind of annoying. Overall though I do like this new UI that they've done. I wish there would have been more web content like youtube, but beggars can't be choosers. I've had some people say that they've had the update pushed to them already, so they might have just stopped the pushing of the update.
XBOX Live was clogged when I tried, guess everyone signed in all at once the Microsoft's servers couldn't handle the traffic. deltatux
I have two Xbox's and one has no reach of internet. It will be useful if Microsoft would update the download links for USB and CD with the latest software. This way you can avoid waiting the update online. Why in Gods name wouldn't MS do that and solve the problem? Ok who want to update the console using Xbox Live, go ahead, or you can use this zip to manually update...
The video they sent me said 4OD/Demand5 and YouTube were all supported. Need to try this out later, even though i will never use any of the features, it's still nothing new to mess about with.
Sure wasn't in the apps section an hour ago, unless it's in the process of being uploaded, news sites aren't mentioning the lack of it. But youtube is coming later this month definitely, and iplayer next year
Be sure to send MS a letter stating you opt out of the new liability rules included in the update. Like Sony and EA now MS is making it so you can't take them to court or do a class action lawsuit. http://uk.gamespot.com/news/xbox-live-terms-of-use-rule-out-lawsuits-6347190
After reading that, there is nothing in there that leads me to believe i personally should opt out anyway, just looks like they are covering their own arses.
Some of the media apps I believe were delayed longer. Which I would really like Youtube on there, because I like youtube.
I'm assuming that Iplayer will be avalible to everybody regardless of sub level, this was a major sticking point and only MS could back down on the matter as the BBC could not by its charter allow the iplayer to be locked behind a subscription service.
