It's been maybe 3 years I've been running my current setup. And well, I felt this year it was time for an upgrade, and here's the list of what I'm looking at and I'd like to know what you guys think.

CPU: Intel Core i5-2500K (updated) (bought)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115072

H&F: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 Plus (updated) (bought)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103065

    Motherboard: ASRock Z68 Extreme3 Gen3 (updated) (bought)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157271

    RAM: 2x G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) (updated) (bought)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231416

GPU: Galaxy GeForce GTX 570 (updated) (bought)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814162075

Case: COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942 (bought)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811119225

PSU: COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 850W (bought)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817171048

    SSD: Crucial M4 128GB (updated)
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148442

I basically plan to use it for gaming, and want to know if this will be pretty good for games like BF3.

^Sounds like a good idea...570 would do the trick.

OK, updated my main post to EVGA GeForce GTX 570 with a Intel Core i5-2500k. So this will be much better than the i7-2600k and ASUS ENGTX560?

Also, how far would I possibly be able to push the i5-2500k with the motherboard I selected and with the cooler I chose?

Thanks all in advance for any input, feedback and advice.

Replace the OCZ SSD with a Crucial M4, ditch the GIGABYTE board, use a ASRock Z68 Extreme3 gen3.

one thing I can say is start looking at the feedbacks on Newegg of the items you want to buy. For exemple, look at the feedbacks for the Gigabytes mobo, the OCZ SSD. That alone would stop me from buying those.

I made a thread a couple of days ago and and gonna do a pretty similar upgrade as you. Will get a 2500k, asrock ext3 gen3, 2x4 ripjaw 1600, coolmaster Hyper 212+ heatsink and a Crucial M4 256GB.

    i went with a 2500k, asrock Z68 ext3 gen3, 4X2 1600MHZ G.skill ripjaws, CM hyper 212, and a 128GB crucial M4.

    amazing combo.

KK, thanks for the advice. I've updated the first post to reflect these changes.

Now just trying to decide between V6GT or the 212+.

Hyper 212+ is a better unit, and is cheaper.

Reading quite a bit of reviews, and seeing you two recommend it, I'll go with the CM Hyper 212 +. So overall, this build should last me quite a while, and be able to handle recent games like BF3 pretty well, right?

Well thanks all for the amazing feedback!

a 560TI at 1080P ultra will pull about 40-45 average with 2X aa or so..

    a 570 will pull about 55-60

Thanks guys! Basically ordered everything already. Decided to go with a Galaxy Technology GTX 570 over the EVGA one. I also decided to go with 2x G.SKILL Sniper 8GB (2 x 4GB) over the Ripjaws. Only thing I haven't ordered is the Crucial M4, I'll order that within a week. But so far, only spent like 1050 USD.

Again thanks all for the feedback. :) I can't wait to get it all together and play BF3.
