Hey Everyone I'm upgrading to the new LGA 2011/MB and it seems that the engineers are putting the PCI-E x1 in between PCI-E x16,:bang: I have a X-FI HD and i want to use it but i run Trifire that takes up 6 slots, the x58 MB's work fine but the new x79's are in weird spots My question is... can i put my X-fi-HD in a PCI-E x16 slot? because if so then I'm good to go on ordering my hardware, thanks for reading and i hope i can get a real answer on someone who has done this. if it works fine, will it scale down my video cards?
So they can say its there, even if you cant use it. At-least its not behind a Tall north-bridge chipset like it is on a friend mobo.
Because chipsets are generally limited to a maximum number of PCI lanes and therefore may not have enough spare to put in a whole extra full x16 slot.
