I have a problem with the new driver
(11.10 previews or the WHQL one)

My monitor can handle 60 Hz.
But after installing this new driver, I can see that 100 Hz is detected like supported rate.

It is a fault, I can't change to this refresh rate, there is no picture, my monitor doesn't support it.

The problem is that some games try to start with this 100 Hz frequency (I think, maybe because the games see it like highest supported rate)
And of course there is no picture, just an out of range messafe.

Below 11.10 there isn't this kind of problem.
I tried to reinstall the monitot driver, but it didn't help
Any idea how can I disable this 100 HZ possibility from the Windows ?
Maybe there is a way to delete it from the regsitry or so ?

    Thanks!

Next week will be 11.11 :)
And also i think, that in Catalyst there is forced resolution and refresh rate. Did you tried it?

    No.
Where can I find this ?
In CCC the desktop properties I can see that my setting is :
    1080P @ 60 Hz

It's ok, this is my desktop's setting

But some of the games ignore it
(Fortunately, in most of the game settings I can set the rate manually to 60 Hz)

Having the same issue, checked with all 11.10 versions (3 previews and whql).
Max refresh rate on my monitor is 75Hz but CCC claims it at 240Hz.
Can't touch any setting in the BF3 options during fullscreen due to it, reverting to 11.9 and it's detected and works properly.
My monitor is connected via DVI, TV through HDMI-to-DVI being detected properly.
I really hope it's not an issue that will carry on to 11.11+

Yes, absuletly the same problem here.

Max refresh rate on my monitor is 75Hz but CCC claims it at 240Hz.

They should solve this problem, ATI Tools can't help on BF3 !

Locking your refresh rate to 75Hz would set it to 75Hz in all games so yes it would help!

Would you try to enable gpu scaling and try your faulting game again ?

i have the same issue that a "not optimum mode“ floating box shown on screen while some games were running (such as battlefield 3, crysis and company of hero)

i solved it by enabling the gpu scaling in 11.10. all games were fine, i was cheered up.

but i had installed 11.11 last night, to my suprise, the refresh rate problem occured again even if i had checked the enable gpu scaling.

now i have to switched back to 11.10 desperately.

    It's still broken in 11.11a.
Good news about 8.93, I just hope they'll build on that for future drivers.
