I second this question. The game runs terrible, I think that there are some areas where fps goes under the 25fps mark. Even at low details the game still feels like crap, there's something very wrong.

I think in general Rockstar games run horrible on PC. They really don't put any effort to ensure smooth gameplay on PC. GTA IV been out forever and they still haven't patched it to optimize it for PC.

If you have a console, I'd personally would just stick to playing Rockstar games on your console.

Fraps works fine, check with ctrl-alt-del how many LA Noire processes you actually have (Should only be one.) also it is locked to 30 FPS as I mentioned in the game section thread. :)
(As of 11.10 there's a profile for the game with the drivers, currently using those from 11.11 Oct 27th and it works just fine.)

From Rockstar? I wouldn't expect anything more than the bare minimum on porting from console and PC, just enough to get people to buy, but not enough for a satisfactory experience.

    But yeah, released yesterday.

    It's capped at 30 FPS.

playing smooth then stutter every 10/15 sec, tried to turn off HT, no luck.

will wait for a new driver or two but this game will probably be as bug ridden as GTA...

Really? Oh, that is disappointing. :(

Even GTA IV with everything maxed out (and I mean everything!) at 1920x1200 runs at an average of 45 (sometimes hitting 60 fps in less busy sections) on my system even with the InjectFXAA hack.

L.A. Noire has better cutscenes but the open world engine is no better than Mafia II or GTA IV both of which are uncapped. I'm fine with 30 fps on the consoles but, for some reason, they just feel and especially look horrible on the PC. I think it's the low frame update coupled with the laggier controls that do it. I could accept 30 fps for the cutscenes but the gameplay really should have been left uncapped or capped at 60 fps IMO.

Steam forums are populated by the worst wildlife but the "guide" section for each game use to have useful info to customize and fix them.

In this case i find this guide to run this game at FPS:
