It's the known stutter problem. Try disabling vsync.

    hi all,

think my system i pretty good, what you think from my specs? i run it it at medium settings i get 40-60 and that's at 1980x1080 and even can play it on high settings with good frames, but the game seems very jidder and jerky. any idea's?

    thanks.

Lowered my Mesh quality from Ultra to Medium and the game rarely goes under 60 fps anymore on 64 player Caspian.

It must have given my CPU the needed breathing room, all the other settings make 0 difference to my fps. Set it back to ultra and it dips to 40.

This is the normal Mesh not terrain. It just changes pop-in for higher detailed objects in the distance. Barely noticeable tbh.

Funny you said that. I increased my texture detail to Ultra from High and got a higher steady frame ratenow. Go figure...

I don't know if you guys have a native resolution of 1080P only but if you don't just lower it slighty to 1680x1050 (which is more or less 1080P anyways) and you will get a boost in frame rates with next to no loss in overall clarity...

So your saying its jerky with my setup at ultra settings? 1.5gb cards. Or all good with single monitor 1920x1080? Yet to get the game, but intending to.

    1920*1080 = 16:9
    1680*1050 = 16:10

There WILL be a loss of IQ going to a non native resolution ...

and even if it be the same aspect. going from 1920x1200 to 1680x1050 is a big difference to my eyes on this game.

The game will be on my rig on thuesday and I'll post results for X6 and 5870 Crossfire. Till now I'm very surprised how good my over 2 years old 5870's are keeping on, just rock everything that I throw on them and expect the same for Battlefield 3 too:banana:.

Dont worry, I also have 2 x 580sli set up and the extra memory handles the game all maxed. The 570's are struggling due to the memory size. He does say"surround", perhaps he means 3d vision where vo doubt they would struggle more but at 1920x1080 I have no stuttering at all and frames well above 60 at all times.
If you do get a lttle stuttering just turn AA down to 2x.

Getting wonderful performance on my end. Everything on "Ultra" with MSAA at 2 and postAA off (too blurry). Nary a hiccup. :)

Yes, look at my specs. I'm playing at 1920x1200, everything maxed out, except MSAA (I might enable it and turn off/lower post AA to see which looks better), which I have turned off. 35-60 FPS here.
