650w PSU, enough for i2500k, plus...

    Throwing away my phenom2x6 1055t, and getting a i2500k and my current build has 2 6850 crossfired, should I get a new PSU? I have 2hdd, and 2dvd writters...thxs.

    You know the 2500K uses less power then the 1055T right?

    Here is also an easy answer, see if it works. If it is not enough for whatever reason, then consider ordering a new PSU.

    I went from a 1055T to 2500K like you are doing. Games will run way better, you will be surprised.

    From the benches that I have seen and from my own personal experience going from a Core 2 E8400 to my current specs the difference was night and day. With your use of a X-fire setup I think the gains will be even more pronounced. Keep up posted though, and good luck!

    P.S. Just noticed you asked about video editing. Going from the X6 to only a 2500K you should stay about even there. If you are really concerned about a notable difference in video editing I would suggest the 2600K. HT helps immensely in threaded video applications. Games not as much.
