not really unless you want to use ultra settings and max the rest out but my set up ran just fine in the beta on high settings.

and how much would it cost me to build a system like yours? because i switched to laptop a couple of years ago due to moving/work and other interests. Tried xbox didnt like it for one reason... the console was fine but at the same time it's a cash sucking machine.

you can build one for about 1300-1500 usd but the video card might get you in price if you chose a gtx 590 but I'd suggest the gtx 570 or 580.I think I spent like like 1300 on mine but I was buying piece by piece like 1 at or time or 2 parts at a time never all at once cause I have trouble saving money.

Here's a rig I put together, and plan to buy, for a little under 1100$, it doesn't include a graphics card, but it is a killer rig...

Course you could remove the case if you already have one, that's 189$ back, right there, and if you don't want a SSD, can remove that for another 110$, you could also remove the DVD / Bluray player & burner if you don't need that...knock off a few hundred there, then spend some more on a GFX card. Up to you.

The game, downloaded to the HDD, takes up exactly 12 967 052 193 bytes, which is 12 366MB, which is 12GB.

    So it's neither 11GB nor 15GB.

An important note for ATI users from readme:

Is that installed size? If so, I'll be able to put it on my ssd easily, bonus!

Anyway, have you uk gurus noticed premier league footballers wearing bf3 shirts? Chris Smalling was pictured wearing one yesterday in the sun. Micah Richards today...

I ran the beta on ultra pretty well on my 6870, no AA of course. I'm hoping for 2 xAA work the gtx480... Might be wishful thinking though...

    I just finished downloading.

After starting the download, I went and uninstalled BF2 and BF Heroes. :(

(yes, i'm one of those tools that actually had some fun with Heroes. :hatty: )

I didn't even know I had BF2 on my machine until I stumbled across it last night. I then remembered that I re-installed it very soon after the BFBC2 launch when EA was having all kinds of server problems but I needed a dose of BF. Played it for a few days back then.

I haven't deleted BFBC2 yet, though. In fact, I'm gonna go play some now. :rpg:

I haven't quite completed my BF3 upgrade either. Got the 6950, but still need a quad core CPU...just waiting for Phenom II prices to drop first.

Yep, I installed it right after the download.

Before downloading it said there is 12,1GB to download, when it got to 100% it said "downloaded 15,3GB", go figure...

I got mine right after the big prices drop that was around July, they went up again and up by a lot, I don't think they are gonna drop anytime soon.

He means after it's installed, you can close origin and start up the exe which at the moment starts a date checker drm program origin does not start with it so you can use a vpn to authenticate the game.
