Any must have games? I'm getting Red Dead Redemption next week, and I heard Heavy Rain was really good too. I'm weary of fps games because I've never been good with a controller for those types. Any good 3rd person shooter/action games? PS3 exclusives? Sorry if this type of thread has been posted a thousand times.
+1 also even though its an old game Metal Gear Solid Guns OF the Patriot! thats awesome game, Resistance 3, Killzone 3, Like u said Heavy rain is good, if u like Yakuza 3 get yakuza 4 by sega pretty good game.
Ah, I had looked at the GOW series, think I may pick it up. Uncharted looked good as well. Has anyone played inFamous? If so, thoughts? Oh, and thanks for the replies!
yes, heavy rain is good. uncharted is brilliant as well. funny, I'm saying buy to my ps3 and games tomorrow. metal gear solid 4 is one of my favorite games of all times.
+1 Although, I'm not an console player, I purchased this for my son when it came out, and I enjoyed it a lot out of all his games.
While yes, the inFamous games are good... there's next to no replay value.... so if possible, i'd rent them.... or find someone to borrow them off of. As for "Must have" games..... if you're into RPG's... and if you're into a bit (ha) of a challenge.... Or Demon's Souls... which is now down to $20 as one of their greatest hits... or Game of the Year... or whatever they're calling it. Both games are fantastic, and both games will give you a run for your money. Just uuh... have to try not to break something.
Yeah, Demon's Souls and Dark Souls sound terrific, but....after reading the reviews on how it only has one difficulty setting, (insane I would guess?, lol) I would probably blow a gasket playing either of the two. I just graduated from easy to normal on Dragon Age after the 2nd playthrough, lolz.
Haha. It's not INSANELY bad... just have to remember to do things that you don't normally have to do in RPG's these days... Like block... And pay attention to your stamina.
If you get RDR and never have been good with a controller - you'll get there fast. (try expert targetting after 1 month and once you get the hang of it you never look back) Need a COOP partner? add Yegods-Doc - BadCompany1 is also great. Only slight auto-targetting, really well done. Oh, and the sound is sheer awesomeness. - AssCreed 2 & Brotherhood - both awesome in their own ways. MP in Brotherhood is really something new.
Little Big Planet 1&2 - This game is mad fun with friends. You can also create levels and/or enjoy the countless levels made by the community. It's a must own title. Ratchet and Clank - Solid series and story. Deathspank - If you want a funny game, this is it. PixelJunk - These games are all fun and cheap.
I realise you have probably already carried this out by now. Just wanna add my little opinion - becase I did exactly the same thing! - Got rid of my PC and bought a PS3, for the first week or so I loved it, Uncharted was great, LBP was great and many other titles. Now I have come crawling back to Pc gaming. IMO it cannot be matched. I hope your decision to carry this out lasts alot longer then mine. Dont get me wrong - PS3 is a great system, its just not a Pc.
Nah, didn't get it to replace the pc. More like a change of pace if you will. I started on a pc and will likely finish there. I may even pick up an xbox on ebay so I can play Halo and Gears as well. But that will be after I finish Resistance, GoW, Uncharted, KillZone, LBP, etc,etc...I will add this though, I seem to be able to remember button mappings a on the ps3 controller much easier than the kb and mouse mappings for my shooter games on pc. I must be getting old and slow now, lol.
Best games i've played on PS3. UNCHARTED 1&2 Soon to be 3.( all great) Resistance 1,2,3. (all good, but 3 has exciting mp) LBP 1&2 (2 has better graphics and more options) GT5 - If your into racing sim type games. Motorstorm 1,2,3(2&3 are better) Ifamous 1&2 (2 is better) Just cause 2 - Open world Split second - Arcade racing There are tons of games that are good on PS3. I've just built a new rig, but love the PS3 also Have fun with it.
