How do I do that ?

Task manager process says Normal

 

Minimize the game or run it in a Window and press ctrl+shift+esc to bring up the task manager. Under processes go to Rage.exe, right click it and go to priority to see what priority it's running at. Don't forget to disable Afterburner's OSD or it will destroy your performance.

Also, I'm blaming AMD because nVidia users aren't reporting the same massive amount of problems.

 

can someone post some screenies of this game? btw, for those who have it, how is it?

I get a solid 60fps 99% of the time with OSD running

 

What drivers are you using? I'm going to restart and see if that makes a difference, this is all very strange.

Having the OSD enabled causes my GPU usage to jump from 20%(no AA)/50%(32X AA) to 80-90% regardless of the AA setting and it stutters.

 

There are a load of screenies in this thread, its a great game

There aren't many games that keep my attention for more than a couple of deaths but this one is really good.

 

11.9 WHQL + 11.9 CAP1 with the 2 dll and xml files from these new RAGE drivers in the game dir

Oh and a custom Rageconfig.cfg

GPU use barely reaches 70% with 60FPS

played the first 5minutes of rage 5minutes ago. looks pretty awful, runs really smooth, feels really old, made a rageconfig.cfg file

have latest drivers (nvidia updater did nothing).

i have the issue i seen where you turn and its crap textures, only lasts for ~ 0.25seconds

not sure if i want to continue playing or wait for it to get fixed.. probably the latter.

 

Try changing this value lower to 8 or 16

nvidia drivers have some issues to with texture popin quite a shame........
think i wait for better drivers this just ruins it.

 

That Dead City Central Hospital Mission almost gave me heart failure

It made returning to the wastelands and seeing the bandits like coming home to momma

I can play this thing @2560x1600 without a single issue at constant 60fps, but applying this to my config and my game literally stalls halt. I get less than 1 fps :banana:

 

vt_maxppf 16 or lower causes texture corruption on my PC after a few minutes of gameplay (Flashing black textures etc.)
What fixed all my texture popin issues was these variables in the rageconfig.cfg file

The anistrophy settings are optional but the others got rid of the garbage textures for me and I did not have to use the vt_maxppf setting.

I am running it on an Alienware M11x dual core I7 with hyperthreading and NVIDIA 540M that has 96 shader processors so this is no high end gaming demon but the game runs silky smooth and no texture issues now.
NVIDIA 285.27 BTW. Also I forced VSYNC in the Nvidia control panel under the Rage game profile, it was set to force off originally which caused massive tearing on screen.

OK, can someone tell me where the **** my Anarchy edition DLC is?

I have the double barreled shotgun, the fists of rage..... but I never saw an option to get the Crimson armor or the rat rod buggy?

How do I get those items?

 

When you get to Wellspring you can choose your armor when you get your armor, and you can choose the rat rod when you race.

Done the COOP missions and thought they were excellent, I hope they expand on the MP side of things. Hell make the whole campaign co-op and make it so you progress from mission to mission without manually having to select stuff.

 

Rage has things reversed to what I'm used to. Extreme example is Gothic 3: up close very high res textures, good looking. But, the LOD causes the distant land to be VERY ugly. Rage: beautiful distant land, blurry textures upclose. Especially interiors can be extremely terrible due to the texture compression. I can live with somewhat low res textures (as can be expected in a console port), but the compression artifacts are just too much:

The vending machine is bad, but just look at the wall behind it.....that's not the jpg compression!
