Max Payne 3 - Winter 2009 ZOMG!

There's an article up at gamespot (link) that has Remedy talking about what it was like working on Max Payne 1 and 2.
Remedy comments that Rockstar has kept them in the loop on MP3 since pretty much the beginning.

Sending them builds of the game, letting them play it... and giving feed back.
There's supposed to be another part of the interview where Sam Lack discusses Remedy's involvement with MP3 a bit more.

Yes, I reinstalled both yesterday after watching it. Then... I installed RAGE this morning. Haven't gotten to Max Payne yet.

 

install the Kung Fu mode too,it still makes fun

 

Boring, meh.. there is still to much GTA4 engine influence in it, it doesn't look like a Max Payne game at all..


heh that's what you get if the engine isn't so versatile..

 

How can you tell from those shots, none of them are actual gameplay, but cutscenes or bullet time type stuff, not that i would mind anyway, Rage engine is one of my favourite engines.

Still waiting to see some proper third person shots, and not the fancy cinematic ones.

I see GTA4 engine all over it and not in a good way (lightning, character creation, surroundings)..

 

Well looking at it again, i can see the dodgy looking motion blur in the last pic, and the lighting does look very similar in the second pic, but i still like the engine, whether it works in something more linear i'm not sure yet.

Visually though, GTAIV on the consoles was far behind what it looked like on the PC, and this could be even moreso if we assume these are console shots, but if you don't like the Rage engine, then i doubt there is much they can do to make you.

 

The point is GTA4 engine only looks good in GTA4. And its not suitable for MP3 at all.. Either you're a Rage engine fan or not.

 

Yeah, i do agree it might not be suitable for MP3, actually find it hard to imagine Rage engine doing a game like this, but still think those screenshots aren't that bad, but i do think i have lowered my expectations recently.

Compared to something like..say the new Hitman game screenshots, i think they suffer abit though.

 

I think the new Hitman should be promising, Hitman:Codename 47 is what got me to join the jedis before that I had a sith pos celey that I played old school CS on. Hitman came out, tryed the demo, fell in love and had to upgrade to jedi side.

Best hitman was 2nd imho despite the game expanding to consoles with the 2nd one, I still think it was the best.
