ok it updated that way, now Aero no longer works. lol NVIDIA instalation suxs.

ok a reboot fixed that, its playing nice but not with RO2 down to 27 fps....

    Trains 2012 I lost 20fps from 35 to 40 fps, down to 17 to 14 fps.
    :bang:

@Casper I know what I'm doing, I know how to make NVIDIA profiles.

Still this is a beta and its losing advances in other games.

    23 years building computers.

Hardware drivers are always a problem.

I had my first "driver stopped responding" message with this driver for very long time, so I had to turn off HW acceleration in Flash yet again to get rid of this nasty thing.

Oh, I thought that only affected the 280 series. I was on 266's.

I get with the last driver aswel, so far so good with this one.

Are you sure turning off HW acceleration in Flash will help?

It disable acceleration taken from HW of graphic card, so if it crashes after turning it off, your CPU is unstable.

    No good for me
Driver keeps causing BSODs when playing LOTRO - back to 285.27 ( couldn't give a stuff about BF3 anyway :) )

    I have a question guys!

Do these drivers work better for Dead Island?

Because it says they have updated the sli profiles!

Just installed and tested Dead Island... wow HUGE improvement.

I always had a feeling the SLI was not working correctly as I was getting 30 to 50fps yet both my GPU's were at less than 60% usage and CPU was only at 20% usage
(thats with 1920x1080p and 4x AA)

With these new drivers the game is now running at 60fps constantly, no area I could see would dip below 60fps.

It's just sad that I finish the game on Sunday after 40 hours of play in coop....

I love SLI but its biggest issue is lack of proper SLI profiles... whats the point of having SLI if Nvidia wont release an SLI profile until 4 weeks after a game is released when we have finished the game?

You sure it isnt your 5870 that causes the bsod's in combination with Nvidia drivers?

Must be a screwed up Windows installation because i personally never had such issues.

Havn't encountered that yet, only had it with 280.19.

For me this Driver runs flawless.

I suggest you reinstall Windows once a year (If not sooner), no matter how clean you try to keep it, after a while it becomes a crap magnet no matter what you do.

Perhaps people need to learn how to properly install a Driver.

    1) Uninstall the old Driver thru Control Panel.
    2) Reboot.
    3) "Standard VGA Adapter" Check.
    4) Run Register cleaner from CCleaner. (Might not be needed, but i always do it)
    5) Install New Driver.
    6) Reboot.
    7) Done.

And don't tell me you need Driver Cleaner because that cleans up more than just ur Drivers. It's a worthless piece of crap and not needed at all.

This matches what vr-zone tests have done, GTX 580 get 50fps in an empty server.

I may have to upgrade after all :(
