I got a lag every sth. like 5-10 min there is a 1-2 sec. lag... is it my 2 TB Harddrive causing it? Or is my hardware tooooo good? (i7 2600k I mean...) ?

    Please help, Daniel

Yep, software is just too bad for your too good hardware. Please use Gainward video capture tools and send thumbs down to them.

Ask a sarcastic question, get a sarcastic answer. Fair deal.

1680x1050 (full screen), 30 fps... MJPG compression, 100% quality.

My guess is his HDD can't keep up.

If you're recording for long enough that you notice lag "every 10 minutes", there's no reason you shouldn't be using Fraps. It's vastly superior, AB is better off for those short spurt-of-the-moment convenience captures. I'm not suggesting it'll get rid of your issue, but it's a good suggestion either way :)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

its prolly writing 4Gb of stuff to hdd at once, hence the lag

Hmmm... maybe I've to choose "uncompressed", maybe the compression is causing some sec. lag...

You have to think and configure the compression settings wisely. Uncompressed 30fps capture at 1680x1050 requires approximately 150 mb/s bandwidth, doubt that your 2TB harddrive can write data at such rate.

thx, awesome tip! No or almost no lag anymore, have set MJPG quality to 70 or 80% and threads instead of (Multithread optimisation) "automatic" I chose "4 compression threads" (that's the half of what I got (i7 2600K, 8 threads(!)) ).

It works, although I don't know, which of those two settings is responsible...

    Thx to you all, DanielNL
