http://www.dailytech.com/Lucas+Make...ing+Star+Wars+BluRay+Release/article22623.htm I actually don't have a problem with the first No. but the NOOOO! is pretty unfitting. The ewok eyes are fine as well, but the changing of the Krayt dragon call to...I dont even know hot to describe it, to the other numerous changes to SW is just getting out of hand if you ask me. Why constantly keep doing these changes? Why not just release a new movie set in the Old Republic or in the future? Then he can make the movie just as he wants without pissing off everyone?
Too bad he don't put the time and effort into a third trilogy. Before it's all said and done, it will all be undone, and not even worth saying :3eyes:
Talk about milking it,he is also bringing them out in 3D,its been confirmed. However the original Trilogy will remain in my top films of All Time.
Someone writing for The Escapist on this new Blu Ray set of change said it right. The most notable piece of work from George Lucas is the Star Wars trilogy (the original three) for based on these alone many would have seen him as some sort of genius but since then he hasn't done any solo work worth a note, the prequels were mostly duff and the fact that he is now making constant chances to the original works suggests that they were so good not because they were the work of a genius but rather a stroke of luck.
I think Lucas doesn't actually think these changes are good, but just that he needs to change crap in order to be able to legitimize re-releasing the damn collection every year.
Watching the vids 90% of those changes seem pointless and the only good one, the ties coming out during the battle of Endor was rubbish because the CGI was terrible and showed them just appear.
I've been watching this over on the Blu-ray.com. Now they're going to have an edited version, AND a NON edited version. I, personally, am going for the first three unedited. Should be great ^_^.
Well at least Yoda wont be cross eyed anymore JK Id prefer a release where nothing had been altered from the originals....But good luck finding that on DVD or BR
I have all the original edits on vhs, cant get them on dvd as original trilogy was first released on dvd as special edition only, there are some parts i prefer in original edits and some parts i prefer special edition.
Agreed. The puppet in Phantom Menace looks horrible and scary as hell. I actually think the replacement of that with the CGI one looks MUCH better. Plus, the movie is basically a CGI fest anyway..
There are hundreds of great movies with less than great special effects. There are extremely fun games without mind blowing graphics. It seems to me the art of doing something well, is being lost in the art of doing something pretty. It's like smearing so much makeup on your girlfriend, that she don't even look like the same person anymore. I'll take the originals thankyouverymuch
