8400 GS won't run **** let alone BF:BC2 (I happen to own that card, now replaced with GTX 550).

Yeah I would scrap it the whole thing. If you where to replace it with a core2quad it Would be more expensive then just buying a whole new setup. Socket 775 is way overpriced right now. If your on a budget go with a quad phenom II. The new frostbite engine loves quad cores doesn't make much of a difference whether it is intel or amd, As long as it runs 3 ghz or more. Sorry for this, but there is no way in hell that can run battlefield 3. That setup could barely run battlefield 2 on medium. That cpu is a huge bottleneck so don't think a new video card is going to fix it. Remember have a good day

 

That could probably play CS 1.6 at 1024x768 fairly well........forget running BF3 on that.

How about a question for a question. Why the heck would you ask such question when you have a decent computer and you know what it is capable of. That should of given you an idea of how crappy the other computer you specified is. If it was me I would of threw that crap box out the window then ran it over. Honestly, if it has a hard time playing wolfenstein enemy territory you can be assured it not going to run battlefield of any kind.
