    Hey guys, I can get either the dcII 580 1.5gb or Phantom 3gb 580 for the same price, and wanted to ask which one will be better for me? I will use it for benching mainly and wont go over 1080p. Can I water cool either of them?

    1920x1080 uses 1.3gb of vram on metro 2033 maxed. thats the most vram usage I have seen at this resolution. what happened to your dual 6990`s?

    Why dont you just get one GTX560 Ti and save the rest. You will need it when the time comes..

    because he benches. a 560ti will only get you so far.

    @khalam

    i doubt youll be able to wc either of them since they are not reference design. all of the water blocks i have been looking into lately, be it from danger den to koolance, only have them for reference cards.

    as tommyk2005 stated, you should be fine with a 1.5gb 580 if your only using 1 monitor. i would suggest the asus matrix 580 if its available in your neck of the woods. not sure how much of a price difference it is between the other 2 cards you mentioned, but its worth checking out at least.

    I can get the ones mentioned for 400$ brand new, matrix would be again half the price:(

    The 3gb is only going to be worth it in a few games that use large amounts of texture memory combined with high levels of AA, for benching at 1080p and below there's no benefit in the 3gb model, Khalam. But if you get them for the same price I'd defo take the 3gb, can be sold for more than the 1.5gb when you're done with it. Can't comment on waterblocks.

    I would get 3GB . Especially stuff like Crysis 2 High Res pack can use as much memory as you give it I've seen it use well over 2GB on 3GB card.

    it looks like the lightning is available and apparently he has a lot of them so ill get it for the same price as the phantoms;) so 730$ for 2x GeForce with CUDA GTX 580 OC MSI 1536MB Lightning OC which seems to be an all around winner
