H.264 decode corruption when I use media center 7 x64 - Now Working!

    H.264 decode corruption when I use media center 7 x64 - 07-02-2011, 12:40
Still not working in 11.6a, but what did I expect?

I get H.264 decode corruption when I use media center 7 x64 to decode DVB S2 H.264 video (TV channels in the UK, BBC1 HD, BBC HD, Channel 4 HD) using my single AMD/ATI HD5870 graphics card.

    This happens with x64 catalyst drivers 11.5 & 11.6.

I don't have the problem with older driver 11.4.

THIS HAS BEEN RESOLVED in 11.8 preview driver!!!

Well i fixed my issues.. all i did was take the OGL files from 11.4 march 23rd drivers and switched them with those in the 11.8 package BEFORE installing the 11.8.

No more tree flicker in Second Life and even my vsync problem is fixed too :D

So far so good and all running peachy in SL and BFBC2.. although in CCC it says im running the 11.8 OGL 4.1.10993 version, in the SL Client it says im running the 11.4 OGL 4.1.10664 version.

So im getting all the perks of the 11.8 preview driver with an older OGL version thats runs how it should do..

All happy here again.. at the moment :)

Here BFBC2 is laggy. I might go back to 11.6.

BFBC2 is running so good now i cud run fraps all the time and not really feel any lag.. i guess when it gets heavy with the particles (dust and snow) but apart from that its never ran better :)

I was having issues with clocks, but if I rebooted and didn't start Afterburner, everything works great. Afterburner and 11.8 aren't playing nicely for me. Wish AMD would include the ability in CCC to set our own fan profile, theirs is pretty weak.

Unfortuantly I still have problem runing Natural Selection 2 in crossfire mode as the Shadows flicker non stop. I know the game is still beta and on Steam... But kindly asking they look at this issue if they have spair time.

Thank you ATi for your kind support also thanks to guru3d for the best information source on the net!

Yeah Fear 3 is all messed up with either of the new drivers... went back to the 11.6b hotfix drivers...

Release notes taken from first post, these drivers also include everything the 11.7 WHQL's do, so yes, all issues in those, are present in these, as they are basically just the 11.7's, with these extras, that no doubt, they didn't have time to get into the officials . :)

Crysis 2 increase is barely if not at all noticable... I actually felt some microstuttering with it than the 11.6b hotfix

The overwhelming majority of complaints come from people with Crossfire-setups. If you check nVidia driver forum you'll notice the majority of complaints come from users with SLI-setups.

Modern game engines developed for consoles tend to have inherent issues with multi-GPU setups when porting to PC. Drivers can only do so much. If the game engine isn't fixed and sorted out for multi-GPU, no driver in the world can fix every problem since the issue is with the game engine, not the hardware or the drivers.

Yeah, Its a shame that is the case.
Im just running this machine oc'd to doom and its handling crysis 2 fine and like mikeva901 says, each driver seems to increase performance. I'm currently 3rd in 3mark11 with my cpu and gpu with a score of 4399 ftw.

Yup, I can confirm it too.
Actually I can now (at last!) enable Aero back + use my OpenCL software 24/day.

I am on Crossfire and I do not have any issues. Not even the clock problem. I have over 30 games and since this driver was released I have played a several games with no issues at all.

Recent install of Win 7 and un-installed previous driver and used Driver Sweeper 3.1 before installing 11.8.
