Looking forward to the new version of the patch It sucks when you have a computer crash! glad to hear the progress hasn't been lost. A couple of weeks to wait for the final is inconsequential considering the effort put into it. Its great you look at quality fixing all the small issues too, not just releasing something that isn't to your liking

wow so you basically fixed every flaw with overdone parallax/pov/tessellation? and does it run better? Did you also removed it/toned down a bit there were it doesnt matter much, like here http://techreport.com/articles.x/21404/5
POM in alien vessel plaza floor is activated in game without mods, but has a lot of errors. I disabled tesselation in some surfaces, like floor and plank woods in place that shows your link. Tesselated ocean don't break my performance. In fact, I have better performance with tesselated water in ultra than no tesselated in Extreme. That link is interesting, but I think probably method to see meshes that they use do not match with how game draws the scene. It's a theory, I don't know about those methods.

Maldo isn't making an half-assed effort about it, unlike Crytek, and for one guy who is getting it done in his spare time between work, and looking after a newborn, the results will be even more impressive and worth waiting for! Modders like Maldo and Fakefactory (HL2) are assets to the gaming community, especially considering the results, and the fact that both of them are just one individual doing it in their spare time. I'm sure Maldo won't receive any criticism, but I just want to make the point that if he does, the comments don't reflect the greater gaming community. The simple thing is, if you do not like the mod, any mod, just don't use it! Don't criticise the modder for the effort they put in, they aren't doing it for anything but because they want to!
Gave DX11 engine - best ever made, mod support, SDK, tools, assets. tesselated water performing better then non-tesselated... bad bad Crytek :cussing:
