AMD Catalyst 11.7b Hotfix (8.871 June 27)

Check if you are able to change brightness on mobility. Does it work?

These drivers are pretty good except for some reason my "manual control fan" on my second gpu does work...it reports what I set it too but doesn't actually work....my temp on my "main card" will be fine but the second card temp. will sky rocket up to 100c. Fan looks to be only at 20ish %.

This happen to anyone else?.

P.S. I reverted back to 11.5 and the fan control is working again.

 

I'm sticking to 11.5's (NO CAP's) until 11.7's are out tomorrow or tonight.

11.6's (And early preview 11.7 ,and 11.6b...) were giving me BSOD's randomly for no reason.

 

The Catalyst 11.7 release driver, was not closed before 04.07.

 

Any rumors on whether the 11.7's will improve Crysis 2 DX11 performance on single-GPU's? Or is it simply inferior tesselation performance compared to Nvidia cards due to hardware design?

 

No good for me.

Installed the usual (right) way as with any previous version, everything seemed fine.

Unfortunately, got random BSOD's in a wide range of games.

Had problems uninstalling (first attempt -> ati install manager didn't uninstall), which caused a lot of problem when I tried to install 11.6.

After 2-3 attempts (restart - manual/auto uninstall - clean) did it though and now I'm back at 11.6 witj CAP11.6-2 again.

Next time.

PS: These drivers also messed up my Afterburner Fan Profiles and adjustments. Can't restore them, even now.

 

I'm currently using the 11.5 drivers with no CAP's.

Are the 11.6 drivers any improvements over the 11.5?

 

11.6 drivers were perfect for me (6850 x 2)

 

So I go into AMD's site to download 11.6;

Same with me. Not using mobility. 5870 in xfire. CCC will not run and I get the same error when I start the install. I went back to 11.6 which worked before and now CCC will not install or load on that version either. I haven't tried 11.5 yet.

 

this release is no good for me.

after a couple of reboots where everything seems to work fine i keep getting 100% fan speed when Windows (7 64bit) starts. having 100% fan speed on desktop is not pleasing...
the only way to bring back the fan to auto is to manually open CCC.

i was getting this with some of the very first releases that supported my 6970 but if was since fixed.

reverted back to 11.6a and everything is back to normal behavior.

 

What is release date for official 11.7 driver?

 

Its normally a Wednesday the release day, so with only 2 of those of this month left, it'll be either the 20th or the 27th.

Will the 11.7 final be again older then the 11.7b (27th june/8.871-110627a-121835E-ATI)
cause of the time of delay till the driver gets the digital signatures for windows ?

This was the case with 11.6 rc2 and 11.6 final.
