Crysis 2 DX11 Performance Discussion Thread

Im very pleased with the performance on a single card... everything on ultra - 1080p - single 5850@ 1000/1100

 

I feel you man, I got the same issue, but after 30 sec in game everything is normal, the load on GPU's split equally and fps increase where they should be.

 

You will prob run out of vram. At 2560x1600 with hires textures my 3gb 580s are always at amin of 2gb usage

Yeah man, honestly the tessellation in the crowds of dirt 2 is STAGGERING! its no wonder the nvidia team excels in this case of such extreme tess.

seriously though, i think he spelt dirt 2 incorrectly - he meant "nothing"

 

the lack of controllable AA, AF, and more control of tessellation is pretty bad, they should of really built this game around DX11 and not implement it further down the road, damn you consoles. i wouldn't of minded them working on 2 seprate games and the pc coming out abit later! but eh that's to costly!

I like dice's approach build their game around the PC. well for their new release anyway, tho BC2 is one of the better ported games still

as for performance, i play
singleplayer: 1080, Mix of V.High/Extreme, DX11, No motion blur, High-res textures. 30-45fps around 50-60 if indoors

Multiplayer:
I play 1600x900, all High, High res textures(which i might remove for online) avg 60fps. min 45.

better looking game even on the lowest settings it looks nice and runs fine on an cheapie rig.

driver : 10.6 - all options maxed (except AA options)

 

Yeah. I tried running a profile in Radeon Pro. Is that supposed not to work for DX11?

As you can see even nvidia cards have "bad" performance with all options enabled. People just think about it. It's the maximum setting and thus not surprising at all it'll eat up hardware. Crysis 1 @ launch couldn't also be maxed, even 3 years later maximum AA settings ingame crushed gfx cards. Let's just wait for a driver update from ATI and new CFX caps and we'll see. I guess ATI can get a 10%+ even for single setups as they didn't work together with crytek like NVIDIA did.

 

6990 owner here.

I had Crossfire support in the leaked Crysis 2 release, as well as day 1 of Crysis 2 official release. I can see GPU usage live on my G19 keyboard so I can confirm this.

The problem I'm pretty sure everyone had was related to the flickering lighting etc



I'm hoping to have DX11 + high res patch installed soon!
