AMD users should probably put their hopes to the AMD optimized tessellation slider;)

Well I just have my CCC set to Default which means it is using the "AMD Optimized" Using the Slider is "App Pref" So I can't see that helping me dig out my 30FPS...

I love how this thread in the ATI Drivers section is full of nVidia owners who need to make themselves feel better about their purchase. Keep it up guys, you're as hilarious as you are pathetic. Maybe it wouldn't look so sad if you had any numbers to contribute instead of empty rambling about extreme cases of tesselation. :D

Anybody with a 6970 care to share how well this runs?

AMD probably hasn't released a profile for tessellation for this game yet

My 6970 Lightning runs its at about 20fps upwards of 45-55 fps. The water is killer on performance lol

no because nvidia is faster than ati on heavy tessellation only. ;)

Here Here! But you might wanna edit your specs I don't know of any 6960's? While I expect 6970's to perform a little better than my 5870 due to their better handling of tessellation I can't believe the difference between Extreme and Ultra and the huge FPS hit. ATI will most definitely need to get on getting out a set of drivers with some serious optimizations as there isn't THAT much going on that should kill the FPS this badly. It doesnt warrant the framehit like say the original Crysis did. Even running at Extreme in DX11 I can maintain a solid 60fps same as I could before this patch. I would hate to think this is a case of NV crushing ATI users so they can show off their DX11 cards in a AAA title.

Getting about 30-40 fps in most areas. Rarely deeps below 25. Used to get 60+

Effects are good looking. Lack of anti-aliasing kills me. I tried forcing it with not much result.

The usage on my cards rarely goes above 50%. I need a cap. Forcing AFR Friendly does not work (in Radeon Pro)

Try Fear now. I will report back.

PS: For those with the 24Hz problem, just create a different resolution like 1904 x 1080 at 60Hz and select it in game. You should be fine.

lol nvm its only playable in eyefinity if I turn down object effects, which is basically tessellation... I can only play it on a single monitor...

By the way, the effects are not everywhere. Some section like where you take the suit in chapter 2 are very impressive (apart from performance). Some look very standard.

Why ain't Crytek supporting anti-aliasing, MSAA 4X at least. Come on, it is 2011 after all. Even, Far Cry had AA.

Runs pretty nicely on my setup, only part that fps is tanking at are the rocky rubble bits that have heavy tessellation, might have to keep objects at extreme just to stop the huge drops there.

    No.

    Fear profile doesnt help either.

What do you mean dude, by running nicely. Upper 20s?

The game is much prettier. I am back to BFBC2 until I get a new cap.

Who said that AMD is that "far" behind nVIDIA in Tessellation ? It maybe true for last generation HD5000, but not with HD6000 series

Here is a benchmark I did some time ago :

On the other hand , I am still downloading the Texture pack and wanna know whether my rig can run it with Ultra settings in 5760x1080 Eyefinity or not

    I have Core i7 920@4.25Ghz and HD6990+HD6970 in Tri-Fire
