Gigabyte HD 6970 (GV-R697OC-2GD) BSOD ERROR: 0FL01

    Hi.
    I'm from Polish. The school only taught us the Russian excuse for my english
    At the voltage of 1.175 V can only (for me) to increase the frequency of GPU to 990 Mhz.
    MSIAfterburner does not work with no reference cards (voltage). I decided to pick up only in the BIOS VOLTAGE CORE voltage. After successful flashing RBE_128 reboot and BSOD-atikmdag.sys. I ran in safe mode and kicked the drivers from the card. Now the system starts up, but how to install the drivers is the BSOD-atikmdag.sys. To re-upload the original BIOS to the card or flashrom Atiflash, crashes me this error "0FL01"

    Suggestions:
    Charter does not switch bios
    Used commands in Atiflash or Flashrom
    -unlockrom
    -f-p
    -pa
    -p-fp
    -p-fs
    -p-fp-fs
    All the time is
    "ROM not erased"
    "ERROR: 0FL01"

    Hint "W1zzard, and Techpowerup.com" also does not help.
    - Unpack the Winflash download onto your desktop in a folder called "winflash"
    - Save the 6970 BIOS in your Winflash folder and name it unlock.bin
    - Click Start Button
    - Type "cmd"
    - Right click the entry and select "Run as Administrator"
    - Black command prompt windows opens
    - Type "cd %USERPROFILE%\desktop\winflash"
    - Type "atiwinflash -unlockrom 0" <-- the 0 means first adapter, if you have multiple cards, physically uninstall all but the one you want to flash
    - Type "atiwinflash -f -p 0 unlock.bin"
    - It should complete the flashing process with a message saying something with "verified".

    How can I upload the original BIOS for this card?

    Nobody knows whether we should do something about it?

    Hurrah succeeded.
    NOT ERROR: 0FL01 (Rom not erased)

    After you submit the names of the http://elpu.pl/ memory and finding success on the internet does not unlock any other chip on the graphics card and the computer's motherboard decided to try again.

    The Gigabyte HD 6970 (GV-R697OC-2GD) in the bios Pm25LD010 on WP # is low, a condition that does not allow for flashing.
    Bridged Vcc and WP # high state causes the application and the ability to upload an original BIOS, which I recorded before the dramatic flash itself to disk.
    A standard method is to upload bios
    Tutorial
    1. Uninstall (Device Manager) drivers.
    2. Uninstall CCC
    3. Close the system.
    4. Remove the card from PCI-E
    5. Bridged Pm25LD0010 pin3 (WP #) and pin8 (Vcc) according to the attached image.
    6. Insert the card into the PCI-E slot
    7. Start the system.
    8. Flash by W1zzard, Techpowerup.com (cmd.exe)
    9. Restart
    10. Install CCC
    11. Restart
    12. Check the GPU-Z and everything is OK
    13. Close the system.
    14. Remove the card from PCI-E, and disconnect the wires from the BIOS.
    15. Insert the card into the PCI-E slot and boot the system.
    16. WOW SUCCESS.
    Atiflash in DOS does not work.

    I've found even easier. Measuring SOIC8/SO8 clip.
    Implementation of the mod is now very simple.

    The mod is the same (Pin3 to Pin8). I can successfully flash the BIOS on mine, but no matter what I try, it refuses to unlock the extra shaders :(

    Reading back the BIOS, and opening it in RBE shows that its set to 6970 shaders...

    Not sure what's going on here.

    if you can unlock the card and the shaders are not shown, i guess that means your card has a lasercut!

    You have to spin a card.

    Connect pin8 to pin3 insulated wires
    [​IMG]
    Clean the old thermal grease.
    Apply a new paste.
    Attach the radiator.
    Make a flash.
    The method is very labor intensive. If you succeed you will have a card that again.
    Yes. For me it was the same.

    the smallest i can find is 0.14mm² - is that ok?

    It does not matter.
    Important to have been isolated.
    The insulation is needed so as not to touch the heat sink, and burned the card

    no its a sapphire but the layout looks the same - nice drawing now i see what you mean! but why should i use 2 wires? cant i use just one?

    use just one wire. 2 wires is easier to first connect pin separately.

    If a pin is at logical 0 = low = pulled down do GND, I wouldn't go and just put a wire there to VCC. You're shorting VCC to GND. If the current is limited before the point where you solder the wire - fine. But if it isn't, you might burn the chip and/or the power supply.
    You should use a pull up resistor instead, to pull the pin up to VCC, not just short circuit it as it may potentially be dangerous (for the card, not you).

    I know you're gonna say "but it works!!!1!", but you're publishing a tutorial while giving no guarantee and not taking any responsibility for the damage (which you should have stated clearly - DO AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU MAY FRY YOUR CARD).
    This is potentially destructive so WARN people or provide safer method, with a pull-up resistor.

    You're wrong. WP # Pin 3 (INPUT), I join with the Vcc Pin 8 (+). Where there is shorting VCC to GND ?

    Pin 1=CE#----->INPUT----->Chip Enable: CE# low activates the devices internal circuitries for device operation. CE# high deselects the devices and switches into standby mode to reduce the power consumption. When a device is not selected, data will not be accepted via the serial input pin (SlO), and the serial output pin (SO) will remain in a high impedance state.
    Pin 2=SO-----> OUTPUT-----> Serial Data Output
    Pin 3=WP#-----> INPUT-----> Write Protect: A hardware program/erase protection for all or part of a
    memory array. When the WP# pin is low, memory array write-protection depends on the setting of BP2, BP1 and BP0 bits in the Status Register. When the WP# is high, the devices are not write-protected.
    Pin 4=GND-----> Ground
    Pin 5=SIO-----> INPUT/OUTPUT-----> Serial Data Input/Output
    Pin 6=SCK-----> INPUT-----> Serial Data Clock
    Pin 7=HOLD#-----> INPUT-----> Hold: Pause serial communication by the master device without resetting
    the serial sequence.
    Pin 8=Vcc-----> Device Power Supply
