The mod is the same (Pin3 to Pin8). I can successfully flash the BIOS on mine, but no matter what I try, it refuses to unlock the extra shaders Reading back the BIOS, and opening it in RBE shows that its set to 6970 shaders... Not sure what's going on here.
if you can unlock the card and the shaders are not shown, i guess that means your card has a lasercut!

If a pin is at logical 0 = low = pulled down do GND, I wouldn't go and just put a wire there to VCC. You're shorting VCC to GND. If the current is limited before the point where you solder the wire - fine. But if it isn't, you might burn the chip and/or the power supply. You should use a pull up resistor instead, to pull the pin up to VCC, not just short circuit it as it may potentially be dangerous (for the card, not you). I know you're gonna say "but it works!!!1!", but you're publishing a tutorial while giving no guarantee and not taking any responsibility for the damage (which you should have stated clearly - DO AT YOUR OWN RISK, YOU MAY FRY YOUR CARD). This is potentially destructive so WARN people or provide safer method, with a pull-up resistor.
