Rename the shift2u.exe to Afr-FriendlyD3d.exe without touching the sli bits.
    Sli should work now.
At least it is on my laptop with 9800m gtx Sli.
Maxed out @ 1200p (even antialiasing then i further modified the values in the config from 2 to 3) im getting 59fps in solo and about 40 with 15cars in daytime.
I guess sli works better with newer cards.

This is your only option right now, no official sli update for it.
    Give it a go.

Anyway whats the point? Im able to do 85fps of average at 1080p maxed out (even changing 2 to 3 in config) being 96 the max in daytime.
In night races with 15 cars im doing 65fps.

No point to use sli, a single gtx570 doesnt even choke on it.
If youre having bad framerate unistall 3dvision driver or disable it using gamebooster.

When...that´s the question. Since the release I´m waiting for a sli patch, but seems to be difficult because don´t depend nvidia´s drivers. The problem is the game. Probably never have a solution.

Check my post. If the rename trick is working then the game supports multi gpu otherwise the trick will not work.
    Now its nvidia turn.

I got a GTX295 and I can confirm that SLI is not working trough renaming the .exe.
Think it's due to the nature of the card.

Black screen is caused by an incorrect patch.
Please check what version of the exe are you running; version 1.0.0 doesnt support multi gpu.
Also the patch seems to have a bug that doesnt update the exe to version 1.01.
To fix it download both digital distribution 1.01 patch and standard retail patch.
Run both and check if the exe is updated.

Hmm, SLI works if I just force AFR2, but the framerates are nearly identical to single-card. At least it doesn't *decrease* performance like it used to before the patch.

Anyway, does renaming the exe force both cards to work at 100%? When I force AFR2, the cards only run at 50-60% each and therefore the framerate isn't much better than a single card at 100%.

yes it uses 44% of each but experience ingame at night races etc is much better than runing only 1 card, only one card = stutters... with SLI not a glitch

If you want to further increase the load, edit the values into the config files located in my documents/shift 2.
First max out any settings in video options, then exit the game.
Look for graphics values at the end of the config file, those should be set to value "2". Change them to "3", save and exit.
Now you get a better antialiasing, major track details (dirt on the road and so on, those effects are only present on replays) and better lighting.

Yep you had to edit the xml.

Difference isnt so obvious, mind you, but its more a little detail thing.
