2500K or 2700K better for capturing gameplay?

HT does jack and sheet for gaming. You fell for that hype?

Funny how this thread goes. Those who have a 2600K vs. those who don't. You can't go wrong with either chip, but we all know which chip is best.

That is how it usually goes.

Your 2600K is no "better" then my 2500K. Both are great chips. Yours has HT but big deal, HT is useless marketing from Intel...has been so since the P4...

HT might give you an advantage in HT specific appz, but how many of them are there actually?

    Case and point...

When I was buying my i5 2500K the salesman at the PC store was really trying to upsell the i7 2600K to me. I looked at him and asked him give me one honest reason why I should pay $100 more for the i7. He replied because it has HT and the i5 dosen't. I then said to him how many appz and games take advantage of HT. He looked at me like a deer in head lights....

    nuff said!

in hindsight I probably would of went with the 2500k as I only use HT for benchmarking. Vantage does love hyperthreading, got to admit that. 5.1HT does cream 5.2 no HT. those are my benchmarking cpu speeds.

You shouldn't quit your day job to be a lawyer, you know the saying about fools and lawyers. First off, you CASUALLY blew off an extra 2mb of cache, and have you been to 5.2Ghz yet? I have. I've even posted benchies at 5.33, lets see your puny budget chip do that. Now I can say, "case and point" because I made REAL points. More cache and higher overclocking, HOOAHH!!

Being an anti-2600K troll isn't doing your credibility any good. It's a true sweet chip for the overclocker who wants the FASTEST Sandy Bridge overclocking possible. Tell me, can you run 5Ghz 24/7? Can you run 5.2Ghz at all? Can you even hit 5.33Ghz? No, you cannot. Nor till you as long as you keep bashing 2600K like you somehow did something better, you didn't. You cheaped out and are trying to justify it.

I haven't tried past 4GHz to be honest. I don't feel safe OCing any higher on stock Intel cooling. But I bet I could hit 5GHz though...

tbh both the 2500k 2600k can go over 5ghz for benching. just need the right chip. some 2500k clock higher than a 2600k and vice versa

Then do it! Lets see it! Want to see 5.2Ghz? How about 5.33Ghz? Wanna see them? Cause you won't on 2500K ;)

I don't assume your trying to say that's as easy on 2500K as 2600K? And I didn't say they don't exist, just that you won't make it to that. Ever. 5.2 is already out of pretty much most 2500K's range, but within most 2600K's range.

Also, lets just be clear here, you just took the MOST extreme one you could find, but what is the extreme for 2600K?

    http://www.overclock.net/intel-cpus/938303-highest-i7-2600k-overclock.html
5.86Ghz. Can find 2500K to match that?

probably if I looked for it. You asked for 5.2-5.33 on a 2500k so I gave you a 5.6+ghz. enjoy eating your own words?

Lets just face it, guys. You can bitch and moan about 100 bucks like it's 1000 all day long, and it won't make your choice look any less like cheaping out. And cheaping out is okay, nothing wrong with it, just quit acting like you made some superior choice when that's HARDLY the case at all, and in fact quite the opposite.

And I'm not eating any words, I said lets see YOU do it. You failed and will fail at that. Because you don't have cherry picked chip :p

Only one eating words here is YOU. My quote clearly shows me asking YOU to hit those clocks, not going hunting for other folks hard work. You can't even do what's asked, LOL!!!
