Things you can attach to the back of a truck/car

    What do you call the thing that you use to attach to the back of a car to carry stuff? So far all I've come up with is hitch, but I think it's just the connecting part. I'm not talking about a huge thing, just something to carry like a couple hundred pounds.

    I've always called it a trailer hitch cargo tray. Depending on the quality of the material and size of your hitch receiver it can carry 100 to about 350 lb.

    A trailer hitch is designed to pull rather than to hold so I wouldn't recommend putting a TON of crap on the tray. I usually keep a cooler or two and some weather proof bags (for tools, fishing gear, anything else) on mine.
