I loved Black Ops. It has the best presentation, story wise, out of any CoD game in the series. And even though the story isn't original (like any story is original), it's done very well. Story is actually something that's really pretty new to CoD games. CoD and CoD2 didn't really have stories, they worked based on the fact that the audience knew what WWII was, knew that Nazis = bad, and that was all you needed. Story didn't really become a part of CoD's presentation until CoD4. And while that one was very over the top, it wasn't way out there. Just... a bit exaggerated. MW2 on the other hand... it's a mess story wise. Way to over the top and disjointed... the game feels like a Micheal Bay film, where it's all style and no substance. I enjoyed the game's mechanics, and some of the levels were really, really cool... But the lackluster story and forgettable characters (specially annoying ones like Price) just dragged it down. Also, I appreciate that Black Ops was actually a sequel to World at War... though in a small, subtle way.
Why not get rid of perks and kill streaks altogether? There nothing but pre-applied cheats for casuals.
Salt is technically another one for the modern 21st century ... didn't quite like the movie though. Like you said, Black Ops' plot has been overused and recycled over and over again. I liked Modern Warfare's story arc over Black Ops' story. deltatux
ye, I felt like wanting my $12 refunded from the theatre ... but there's a lot of these similar stories is my point ... nothing in Black Ops was really interesting. The multiplayer was alright, I do enjoy it when I just wanna play a game of purely run and gun and not think about what I'm doing. Else, I'm usually on BFBC2 instead. deltatux
It took me a long time to finally get around to finishing Black Ops, just didn't really feel it. The multiplayer is ok-ish, but also gets boring after a while. All the guns feel the same pretty much, at least in Modern Warfare all the weapons felt different. I wouldn't expect a new engine though, I doubt they have had the time with Activision pushing them to get it out in a hurry. It will most likely be a tweaked MW2 engine (yes I know it's basically a heavily modified Q3 engine). Yes it probably will look crap next to BF3, but as someone else said, it's all about how fun it is. Been playing COD since the beginning, Never enjoyed the online play but the offline single player campaign is always fun imo. Thought black ops was too short so I'm glad to see a new one coming out!
I never said it was but if you happy to keep getting milked for the same old crap then that is your choice.
yeah milking doesnt bother me a bit , for instance ive seen over 20 Bond movies, and still i watch every one thats out.
WTF has that comparison got to do with it ? Oh that is right, they still film in black and white with poor special effects! Are you nuts? Your happy to get same old crap, many others are not and I am one of them so just accept that!
