    Hi,

Installed 11.3 fine, had 11.4 early preview before that, now i tried countless times to install 11.4 but first windows says the program has stopped working although it keeps installing and when its done it says install failed with warnings.

Tried to run driver sweeper, ati cleaner... No better luck, anybody has any ideas why this is happening?

    too vague

whenever windows says stopped working, it tells you the 'faulting module', so what's it say?

It's not about whether it's newer or not, but rather to fix problematic previous redistributable installations, no matter which version, that b0rks Catalyst installation most of the time.

You did uninstall the previous driver using AMD's own uninstaller, right?
Not simply removing it with Driver Sweeper and/or any other cleaners?

Anyway, here's the routine I always do for uninstalling drivers cleanly.
    http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?p=3969348#post3969348
It's something I posted when I test multiple drivers for the DCOM error, so you should skip step 9 & 10.
The latest Driver Sweeper is 3.0.0 the last time I checked.
And if you don't know where to find Genetix Cleaner, here are the links TwL has provided :
    http://www10.zippyshare.com/v/10480242/file.html
    http://www.mediafire.com/?1dkuw184mdzc65d

If that doesn't work, you might need to clean up your registry.
Use CCleaner (pick the Slim one, bottom-most), Auslogics Registry Cleaner, and Wise Registry Cleaner Free, in that order.
With Auslogics and Wise, you should be careful at installation not to install extraneous sh!t, as per with any kinds of free software; the Slim version of CCleaner shouldn't have that kind of problem.
Use one repeatedly until it shows no error, then use the next one; repeat until the last one (Wise) doesn't show any (safe) errors to fix left.
This registry cleaning thing should only be a last effort, and is advised to just do it once every six months or so unless it's really necessary.

    Other than that, dunno.
It's a bit hard to advise on something like this without looking at the actual system. =b

Since only the display driver failed you could try installing it from device manager.

Followed the cleaning procedure you said, now i have this error when i install with everything clean:

    Existing packages
    Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable

    Other detected devices

    Error messages
    Failed to load detection driver

I have never had a problem like this and i have been installing drivers for a long time... Im starting to run out of ideas apart from installing windows again, but i really dont want to do that...

Thanks for all the help, im going to try to clean the registry next and see if after that it installs...

With CFX setups, it might help to remove the second card first before cleaning and installing drivers.

When you did this did you search for the driver file manually or automatically?

I kinda wonder...is this '11.4' you're talking about the WHQL one or one of the hotfix RCs?

    Maybe your download is corrupted?

I also had this problem, but it was the previews, never sorted it, whql worked fine. Still dont know what the problem was. My guess is there is a difference between the all in one installer and the one which is a foldwer full of files.

Have you tried the 11.3's again, then just installing the 11.4's over the top of them.
