It's a bit sad to see such a close minded opinion. Where visuals matter so much you can't simply immerse yourself in the game and enjoy it.
You miss out on so many older, classics...
System Shock 2's visuals look horrid. But the game's atmosphere and tension are so amazing...

 

I recently played Nomad Soul. The graphics are terrible, and animations downright attrocious, but I loved it for it's story and atmosphere.

You could never play a game that looks like this, based on your attitude. Missing out on great stuff.

 

I play the Outcast card. Low-res awkward graphics engine and still GOTY.

And for your info I have played parts of SS2 with high texture mod, found it a very hard game for a casual gamer but games were harder back then.

Well, System Shock 2 wasn't made for casual gamers. So, that's kind of makes sense.
And really man, I wasn't trying to "start anything"... just stating my opinion on the matter. Refusing to play older titles because of dated graphics seems... sad to me.

Also its funny everyone claims to have a "wonderful life" but spends much time on a fourm worrying aobut what others do instead of gettin on with their "wonderfull life"!

A developer is logging all the work done over the years, it currently sits at 9GB, quite large for a mod, I've only seen one that is larger, and that is Cinematic mod @ 10GB packed, 20GB unpacked.

This is seriously crazy guys. I know it's taken forever, I get that, but the quality of the work is up to Valves, which is amazing in itself.

If I had funding, I would hire these guys and start a game studio. That is top notch work in the Source Engine.

 

Apart from the nice graphics, I wonder how good the soldier and creature AI will be?

 

Probably the exact same as HL2, or whatever the latest build of the Source engine they're using.

I had given up on this mod. Seeing more info finally getting pumped out after such a long period of stagnation/no news fills me with joy. This looks absolutely amazing.

 

I was just looking at the latest Source engine features and I didnt realise it had group AI etc in it.

Should be good when it comes out, hope it isnt too much longer.
