I tried cleaning it but there is not much dust visible because the only visible spot is the fan, i also keep getting 'display driver has stopped working but restored' error when watching a blu ray or when streaming 5-6 YouTube clips at the same time. Sometimes i also get a blue screen error when playing COD 4 or a complete freeze of sound & graphics which requires a restart and when the restart button is clicked it responds after 5 to 10 seconds (Only happens in COD 4 not with other games). Before i decide to RMA it is there any cause for this to happen?

Are you sure all these problems are fan related? Noise is a bad thing, but fan noise alone won't cause a BSOD. What are your temperatures?

From ATI Overdrive currently the temperature is 46-47c, fan speed is 22% activity 0%

When playing COD 4 on highest settings 1920x1080, the temperature is 57-66c, fan speed 24-27%, activity 27-47%.

These temps are perfectly normal when under load. What drivers are you using? Because this honestly sounds like a driver issue to me.

In CCC go down to the software tab and it should tell you the version your running. 10.6 is an ok version to run I didnt have problems with it when i had my 5850s
