for those asking how to install on windows 8 7955...
    1) extract the files anywhere on your pc
    2) go to device manager, right click on display adapters
    3) click update driver software
    4) click browse my computer, then click let me pick from a list
    5) click have disk
    6) browse to Packages\Drivers\Display\W7_INF and click on CW116502.inf
    7) click ok then next and Voila! you are done

how to install CCC2 (it worked on my previous 7955 install. i dont use on this one because im using RP)
    1) enable net framework 3.5.1 from program features
    2) from the extracted folder install everything from Packages\Apps\CCC2 (except the 64 version of course)
    3) reboot your pc and go to C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\
and change all the exe to Win7 compatibility mode
    4) reboot pc

note : you cant uninstall ccc2 because you dont install CIM

yep... i can even play BFBC2 with it :D

I think you can uninstall if you try to install again, and choose "remove". That is how I did that in win7 when my card was not recognized by CIM.

    @asder
Had this error when installing the HDMI/DP Audio Driver.

Driver Install: the specified driver package was not installed for matching devices

Is this normal, or is this something that's fixable?
This is on the Mobility version, btw.
My system spec is what's on the left side.

This is what I told people in the Windows 8 1.2 thread back a few weeks ago, but almost everyone jumped over it, glad to see you reposted this so more people will know how to install them.

be careful with this driver, my CFX was almost not working low GPU usage in Portal 2 ( 70 FPS and like 50% gpu usage ) so im back to 11.4 ( 180+ fps in the same part of the game and my GPU's are kickin' )

Glad to see that the latest win8 is finally working, but damn, wish i would of found this out like a few weeks ago, i already have win7 install fresh, with too many games and programs on it. But on another note, if we still can't get rid of that stupid message/wallpaper, i will pass on installing it. Thanks for the info tho :)

Used the one from 11.4 but the CCC display of Video tabs is a bit 'unusual' and the old ati icon from taskbar is back.

The 32 bit and 64 bit Avivo, Opencl and Wmvdecoder are separate. You can instlal the 32-bit ones after the x64 ones are already installed.

This is only a consideration if you want to use OpenCL, wmvdecoder or Avivo from 32-bit apps, which is pretty much everything still :).

Here's a little fact that some people may not be aware of:
Windows 7 x64 comes with both 32-bit and x64 media players, the 32-bit one is the default one (so you can utilise third parts 32-bit filters). The x64 media player can be loaded separately, or it can be made default by the x64 media player defaulter (google it) :)

So, the reason why I was pointing out those 3 (opencl etc) is no doubt you may want to utilise those at some point from 32-bit apps. This is an oversight of the x64 packaging of the Catalyst drivers, however it isn't an oversight of the actual programmers, hence why you can install them :)

For Avivo and WMV decoder, they will install to Windows\system32 for the x64 versions and Windows\syswow64 for the 32-bit versions.

For Opencl, both versions are installed to:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\AMD APP\bin
with the x86 version being in a subfolder called x86, and the x64 version being in a folder called x86_64

disable IE and FF acceleration ... not the video one, but new version of IE and FF use an accelerated engine for web pages ..... the thing is your card will up to max speed instead of only video pages if you have a page open ..

I only use opera, and it's not gpu accelerated at the moment (newer versions will be)

I've uninstalled this driver, and installed new the 11.4 hotfix...I'll see if it's better
