Yah know, I never really use(used?) manual mode on the lens. I decided to mess around with it today for the first time since I had the lens for over a year now. I will have to try this again for my car photo sessions or other stationary objects. I would imagine it would be hell to use manual mode for moving subjects or people like my last 50mm...

A little wider crop of the original... trying to get a little more depth / perspective

I see why youd want it blurred..it is a distraction..if you used a lot less blur, desaturated some if the colors in the background you could make it look a little hazy and make it seem farther away.

I have an olympus that cleans the sensor every time I boot up the camera with a sonic frequency of some sorts...so I dont know how to properly clean them since I havent had to yet. Im sure there's a good tutorial on youtube.

Took some girly pics today. It was hailing too and was getting ready to grab some hail shots bouncing off the ground but it stopped raining real quick. Rawr I hate my camera's ISO quality. Makes me rage.

Can't remember what model you're using, 5xxd was it? You should have sensor cleaning, what I do is take the lens off, point the body downwards, and manually select sensor cleaning in the menu, so any dust falls out of the body. If that still doesn't work, then you'll have to be braver and clean the sensor physically :p

Funny, i kinda like the noise in the pics. I find it sort of adds to the grittyness.

Thanks, but being a noob like myself, when is high ISO noise appropriate in photos? OR umm...when does noise benefit a photo or add to the mood of it?

I don't think so, but the sensor cleaning mechanism has worked for me so far so I haven't had to actually blow anything onto or touch the sensor and I'm quite happy that way :p
