    Hi folks.

After upgrading to Windows 7 SP1 if I have afterburner 2.0 running and try to load a DX9 game it causes the game to crash. DX10 & DX11 games work fine. Unloading afterburner allows DX9 games to again load.

This only occurred after the update to SP1 on Win 7 64bit.

If you run into a similar issue after the upgrade, unload afterburner.

    Cheers

Edit: Installing the beta corrected the issue

Doesn't seem to be universal. I upgraded to SP1 last night (x64) and played the DA2 demo in DX9 (since the DX11 looked equally crap and more than halved my framerate) and didn't experience any issues. CoD BO also seemed to work. Those two titles I've played so far after installing SP1.

What drivers are you using? Did you try to reinstall drivers?
What games are you having problems with?

The problem may not be "universal", but it seems pretty common, mostly the collision of MSI Afterburner 2.0 stable & Win 7 x64 SP1. Installing the MSI Afterburner 2.1 beta 7 twice, fixes it for some reason, at least for me.

I had problems with DX9 games only crashing post-SP1 a few weeks back even though DX10/11 ones ran fine. I tried installing SP1 twice but each time had to uninstall it. I'm running Afterburner 2.1.0 Beta 7 and D3DOverrider.

The third time I installed it, after several Windows Updates (including v8 of the System Update Readiness Tool) I was able to play all games including DX9 ones with no problems at all post-SP1 install. Afterburner doesn't seem to be causing any issues for me as I use with every game I play. Don't really know what caused the issue original on my PC but I suspect one of the Windows Updates fixed everything. Or maybe it's because I'm using newer v266.77 WHQL drivers.
