In the 1980s when i was a young boy lots of movies were disturbing due to no film classification rating until the year 1984,so before this date they could release pretty much anything, which they did because of the Revolutionary VHS/Betamax video player/recorder invention. Nowadays nothing shocks me unless its real, dont matter how good the effects are,if it aint real it dont shock me. Films that spring to mind shocking in the day were.. City of the Living dead and Xtro 1,there were of course 100s more that i could talk about allday long. The best 2 horror websites in the web with downloadable movies and streamed movies, every horror film that you have ever seen, heard, thought about is on these sites, from 1920's to present day. http://horrorflix.webs.com/ http://horrorhaven.org/portal.php You have to register to see the 1000's of movies that are available or horrorhaven but horrorflix is streamed without registration, worth looking at if your into horror.
for me it was The Hills Have Eyes and another one where weird rednecks were eatin people alive chopping there legs, arms, heads, but forgot the movie it was in a forest area. evil dead is kool one of da best horror movies. and da most disgusting is where chinese people eat dogs and animals its on youtube
i thought martyrs was more disturbing than a serbian film. surely though the content in a serbian film is alot more "wrong" in terms of pedophilia/incest. other than that, martyrs is way worse. also, if you though a serbian film was bad. then DONT watch:
Nobody mentioned Faces of Death? Because some things (or all?) in those films are real, i just refuse the see it. Saw a couple of scenes in my teenage years and that's it. I can take horror, since it's always so fake, but beheading vids and/or Faces of Death is a no go for me. Starts up L4D2.
Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. After the beauty that was Mighty Morphin', just thinking about quite how they managed to screw it up so badly makes me sick to my stomach uke2:
+1 on oldboy, omg one of the best movies i have EVER seen, and something that would never ever be created or remade by hollywood Audition is great too
I grew up watching horror films since i could remember, so i got desensitized to gore and whatnot. Not sure i really saw any movie that "shocked" me, but i'd say Rambo 4 kinda did, mainly suprised by the gore and kids being blowed up.
I'm not too much into the horror genre, I've watched some films, but tbh I can't recall any single one. Heh. Anyway, for me the most "Shocking" (in the way of "Wow" and not "Holy Sh*t") is probably the Band of Brothers series. What a hell of a experience as a watcher. Well, that one and Saving Private Ryan. Those were "Shock-Touching" for me
Avatar and first Twilight (I still hate myself for watching it) to name a few... Salo and A Serbian Film are quite good.
+1. I thought it was a decent movie but that one scene where the kid gets stabbed in the chest shocked me. Never seen that before in a movie.
I'm loving this thread . have already started torrent searching for some of the movies. For me Until now i would say The Human centipede and Irreversible are the two movies that i found disturbing.
Realm Of The Senses is quite disturbing, especially as its based on a true story. A sh1t load of real sex scenes, and a rather gory ending, quite disturbing psychologically too, especially if some of it seems familiar to you lol.
