Strange, I read both threads and the most I've seen is that he asked why Asus bios versions allow for 1.2 volts (based on reading about it elsewhere). I don't see where he modded the bois up to 1.2 volts. You gotta link?

    Fail.

They overclock their card, in the quest for performance and a love of tweaking.

They dont 'wonder' what killed the card...... These people (myself included) have only posted their experience for the info of others.

Forgive me.... but can you show me evidence of where someones burned their 570 by either too many v's or disabled OCP and then 'wondered' what killed the card.

Limits are there to be explored, those for a 570 are being found and shared.

Found some more info on vRam , overclocking the Ram on the GTX570 card : The GDDR5 memory chips are made by Samsung, and carry the model number K4G10325FE-HC04. They are specified to run at 1250 MHz (5000 MHz GDDR5 effective).

Not that you should or can get to this speed but with the right voltage it can reach this speed.
MSI Twin frozr GTX570 got a stock overclock on the memory to 4200MHz GDDR5 effective) "N570GTX Twin Frozr II/OC has a 786MHz core, 1572MHz shaders and 1280MB GDDR5 clocked at 4200MHz."http://www.guru3d.com/news/msi-geforce-gtx-570-and-580-twin-frozr-ii/
So going up to 2100 = 4200 Effective is no problem.

Are you joking? were not saying that 570 cant OC, so chill.
Just that some 570's seem to die, no need to take this so personal.

    What a k**b.

So u ran 1 benchmark at that speed, lol

Is that 3dmark05 there, hardly every benchmark.

    'biatches'.... You sound intelligent.

You know this forums going downhill when experienced members post s**t like this.

I was joking lighten up francis :)
i killed the last sb before recall lol
dice directly on the heatsink no fan or cover
trick is to get the thing cold i dont want it to die of heat exhustion 3c idle 24c load
i dont f around wth voltage till i do also i make sure the vrm's area is cold to the touch.
safest way to higher clocks(besides a proper water chiller) then to disable stuff or adding voltage.
find a cold shed and go to town or try crasy sh!t like this
    http://i4memory.com/f22/low-dollar-295gtx-cooling-14417/
...i'm a crasy sh!t like this pro now lol.

try it then slick you have a 580 touch that clock with your 580 with the stock heatsink then it sooooooo much stonger then the lowly 570
i posted that trying to keep my mind off other things and to re assure the 570 owners. not be a fear monger like you and some others...
if you dont like my posting style tough crap
