I think if necessary push the voltage higher just try to stay away from ridiculous temperatures and don't go over 1.5V and you'll be fine

    Sorry but I disagree.

I own both. The 9550 was a real POS, the 6600 would do 3.6 in a heart beat. Could never get the 9550 any where near the 6600. YMMV.

Have a peek at my 6600 OC results, maybe it can help. It's on a 680i way back but it ran equally well on a 780i. You can download a PDF if ya want from my site. See the link below. CLICK ME

Thanks but all your results do is make me pissed off even more about the crappy Q6600 I got lol. I got a Q6600 right near the end of production, it has a 1.325 VID, maybe the last ones just sucked?

Wish I could find someone with one like that, that would be willing to sell it... heck I would be overjoyed with 3.2...

I have a q6600 at 3.2 ghz and 4 dimms of 1 gb ram in a 680i chipset. I had real problems getting it stable with hard locks plagueing me during gaming but I am ok now. Trick wasn't to increase the CPU voltage but to focus on the other voltages. Looking at yours (and again you will need to research these for your particular mobo) the northbridge and fsb voltage looks too low. Just for ref my issue was resolved by manually increasing the northbridge and northbridge/ southbridge ht voltage to above the auto settings.

    Try getting a Q6600 above 3ghz on a 650i chipset, No way!

Well I've got the VTT at 1.32 and the NB at 1.30 right now, is 1.36-1.40 on the NB safe? I coulda swore I read somewhere that you shouldn't get close to 1.4v on the NB without active NB cooling. I'm trying right now with both VTT and NB at 1.38 right now and lowered the CPU voltage back down to 1.41250 (1.40v under load in CPU-Z) but I'm worried about the NB. My motherboard doesn't have a sensor that says "Northbridge" but there is a sensor in AIDA that says "Motherboard", I wonder if that is the NB? Running Prime95 blend, the "Motherboard" sensor is showing 35C (ambient 70F).

    wow... for 3ghz I need 1.225v
P35 are supposed to run 333mhz @ stock voltages, drop ram to 800mhz and test again, again I doubt, but then it's just a bad cpu

been running the n/b around 1.40 for 2 years now. its needed with 4 2gb sticks on my m/b. there is no n/b sensor on our m/b. 1.40 on the n/b shouldnt hurt your m/b

bad cpu, dropping the ram, even using diff ram, tried all of that a long time ago.

I have an almost identical setup to yours. I can't use the 9 ratio, I never got anywhere. Switch to 8 and readjust things as needed.
